I'm in the market for a brand new Web for my 86 (EA82) 4wd wagon. I had kept some notes on potential sources out West, but I cant find them (Wifey probably threw them out). I'm looking for the carb, conversion kit, and anything extra that I'll need for the setup. A Sube-Specific, all-in-one package would be ideal. Lowest possible price, of course. Seriously tho - the kits suck - not worth their cost in my opinion. Get a used one and rebuild it - or buy one that's already been rebuilt and grab the air filter and adaptor plate seperate. Only thing you get with the kit is really crappy instructions that are next to useless. Also - I scanned them, and they are availible on my web site if you want em anyway..... Flow Posted January 12, 2004 Share Posted January 12, 2004 I bought the Redline kit (k731 for 330$) from carbs unlimited in Fife, Wa. As GD said the instructions are useless, the adapter plates don't fit well (they barely cover the coolant hole) and bottom plate bolts were too long. I had to buy shorter ones as well as nuts and washers for the threaded stock they are passing off as carb studs, also too long IMO. There has also been air filter clearance issues on non-lifted cars. If I had my 330$ back I would buy the weber, hardware and make my own adapter plates. I really do want a new Web vs. a rebuilt one. No time for hassles right now, besides it will be going on a nice car. Tim: I'll try the old fashioned search for "Webber Carb". skeet Posted January 13, 2004 Share Posted January 13, 2004 I got mine off eBay. Didn't even bother rebuilding it, it was in great shape. Came off an EA82 (it said that in the auction) so the guy sent me all the adapter plates and stuff that he used. Works like a charm, best $200 I ever spent.
