  1. possibly, yes Tires on these are a big factor. They all need to be within 1/4" circumference - preferably all the same brand, style, size and treadwear to prevent damage to the AWD system. Keeping air pressures regulated is also important. FWIW - if you have a flat and need to use the donut spare, you are supposed to put the donut spare on the back, and use the FWD fuse - that is what that fuse holder is for. Do Not use the donut spare on the front. Meaning if a front tire goes flat, you put the donut spare on a back axle, and move the good tire from back to front, use the FWD fuse and no damage will occur to the AWD system - this is the info you get in an owners manual.

    05 OBXT is an enormous money pit. VF40 turbo failures are not just common but virtually guaranteed. Bottom end failures often accompany. Turbo/bottom end failures are usually around $6,000 to $10,000 to repair on these. GD

They were a short lived feature that wasn't designed to remind people to wear the belt - for a short time in the early 90's they met the legal requirement for supplemental restraints while being cheaper than actual airbag implementations. The laws changed and they closed the "loop hole" that allowed this and they went away. No consumer pressure asked for this nonsense. GD
  4. Start drilling from the opposite side. Then use a punch to drive the snapped extractor out of the bolt. Then go up in drill size and clear the whole bolt out of there, get a longer bolt and nut combo to replace it. If you've drilled off center, drill as big as you can go without hogging the hole out in the knuckle, then use a punch or chisel to drive the remains of the bolt sideways into your hole and then out. You can also use a cut-off wheel to go in through the slit in the knuckle to cut the bolt in half, then you only have to drill the threaded side out. You've learned the harsh lesson of bolt extractors, they never work on a bolt you snapped the head off of trying to loosen. They will work on bolts you snap the heads off of trying to tighten, and they sometimes work on stuck bolts if you heat the bolt glowing hot with a torch before trying to extract it. But mostly they're just a waste of time and a much bigger aggravation if you snap them off in the hole.
