  1. Check your timing belts to make sure they’re still both in one piece. If you’re not getting spark you won’t get fuel. Also check your fuses and fusible links Cheers Bennie

  3. Hello All! My wife inhereted a Subaru Legacy Wagon bought by her dad new in 1996. Served for many years as her mother’s car untill she couldn’t ride no more....Alzheimer. The Car was abandoned in my house a couple of years ago, we used it for going to the supermarket and so....until I decided to make it my project...my wife said to me “Are you crazy, why you want to fix that old Car!!!” I reply....because it has 150k kms its a manual transmission and has awd Hi & Lo..... she gave me the look....and said “do what you want, but dont spend too much”...so here I am, wanting to make it good for traveling arround my beautiful country from de desert to the patagonia and from the Andes to the Pacific...with my two doughters...in case they want to join!!

  4. Your KCM most likely mounted between glovebox and body. They are in next to turbo model, EA82T and first series from 85 and following year share similar if not same four pin module Must be heaps of unused, unloved S1 EA82T distributors just sitting in the US. I made a wanted call but nothing much came to fruition

  5. Maybe check integrity of the four pins and corresponding females. Squeeze females a little for tighter contact on the module pins Make a new post with module wanted EA81T as title

  6. Theoretically....gosh that looks like a tidy ute.... A two pin module could work if hooked up to the correct two wires I looked at doing this for emergency spark but stumbled on version 3 of the adaptor block I was making The mounting holes of the four pin and two pin are not the same Just had a change of plan for V4 just then... A two pin may just work roughly bunged in rather than cleanly mounted Two pin will not give knock control but should allow spark to drive it

  7. You should have a check engine light on. Have someone pull the codes and wright them down. You might see something like P0720 and more. Do you have a volt-ohm meter? First step. On top of the bellhousing are two large connectors 12 and 16 pins for the tranny. Unplug them and look for corrosion on the pins. If they are clean, reconnect them and go for a ride and see if you still have symptoms. Go to the following web site and download the Factory Service Manual for your 97 Legacy. Click the link and then click the link for the manual and a new page will open. Click the big green download button. Another page will start to open with an add, click the X to close that page. Then follow through on the download bar at the bottom of the screen to save or save as. This will get the whole FSM in a Zip file. Extract it to a new empty folder and look it over. https://sl-i.net/FORUM/showthread.php?18087-Subaru-Factory-Service-Manuals- Go to this section - Legacy 1997\Diagnostics Section\On-Board Diagnostics II System Open this pdf file - Diagnostics Diagnostic Chart with Trouble Code for LHD Vehicles.pdf Go to page 311, it is over half way down the document. The next page for P0720 describes one of your symptoms "excessive tight corner “braking”". That could also be the CV joints. Once you have the DTC trouble codes those pages will guide you on what to check using an Ohm meter or Volt meter. You will see Connector B11 in the wiring and lower on the page will be a picture of the connector showing pin numbers. That connector is the 16 pin connector you looked at earlier. You can go to the wiring diagram and look at the Harness pages to see where a connector number is located in the vehicle. A printer will be very helpful to print just the pages you need.
