  1. Older legacy 93' non turbo, would it be worth it to remove the airbox and replace it with a cold air intake? Or am I just asking for problems?
  2. Many have done the Lock up switch mod and not reported cruise control issues. I’d be looking into how you’ve hooked up the VSS as this will be required for the cruise to work, in these earlier Legacy’s the sensor is in the back of the instrument cluster, unless you have the turbo SS model where it will be on the gearbox if it’s electronic speedo like our Aussie delivered RS turbos are (the SS is the US version of the RS and early JDM GT, except US SS was only available in sedans I believe). Anyway, side track there. Why not hook up an aftermarket cruise control system? Much easier than trying to retro fit a factory setup. I’m hoping we can get to the bottom of this one easily enough! What year is the cruise control “ecu” module from? And did it come from an auto or a manual? If from a manual it’ll need a clutch switch bypass - probably just a wire across those pins to say the clutch is always engaged (pedal is at rest position). Cheers Bennie
  3. Welcome. That's exactly the process that led me here too, and this is the no-nonsense forum you'll want to stick with.
  4. 1 point
The Legacy 6MT must be either a JDM or DownUnder (El Freddo?) option...I've not seen one in the US market. I'd make sure I have a reliable source for it and the DIY install. The '04+ STI 6MT is a much bigger and $$ swap. Otherwise, any 5-speed from a '97-'00 (maybe a couple years newer too) Subaru that was connected to the EJ25x should bolt up, and have the 4.11 to match your rear diff.
  5. It's all good, I went back under the 2.2 and adjusted parking brake right. Took about 10 clicks on each side. Had car off the ground using my new 3 ton jackstands from Harborfreight with safety pins ,$44.99. Way better than other two I got.
  6. Yep that is what Europe wants ! Still hoping on a hydrogen combustion boxer engine, you should not always care about efficiency. Fun is a more important factor.
