Aren't 15" wheels needed to clear those? But, yeah, everything should fit right in. Not sure about the parking brake, though. I have some WRX front brakes, and I'm thinking of doing the bigger rears. The bigger rears didn't just come on H6s. All 00+ Legacies with rear discs have the 290mm rear rotors. But, yeah, just kind of a technicality. H6 is the most used term. One other thing is that the caliper changed, maybe in 98 for Imprezas, and 00 for Legacies. If you have older calipers and want to upgrade to the 290 mm discs, you'll need the brackets and new calipers, out of any Subaru with the newer caliper (except STi). I got my WRX front calipers and brackets off a guy locally for $100. I've heard of people paying less, and more. I'd say it was on the low side of average. If my parents give me some cash to do my brakes (which are going to need work soon anyway), I'll probably see if he still has his rear calipers and buy some H6 brackets and rotors so I can put on bigger brakes all around. This is on a 93 Legacy AWD with WRX wheels btw.

Traffic sucks, but I go to school and live a few blocks from campus, so I don't have to deal with it much. When I start my real job this summer it's going to be a pain in the rump roast though. I go back to Missoula for winter break and have gone back for the last three summers. This will be the first summer I stay down here. I'll probably make it up for a few weeks though. You really realize how nice it is up there after living somewhere else for awhile.

Water Pump

Mine was making a squeaking, almost loose belt squealing sound, but it wouldn't constantly do it. One day I was driving along and bam! it blew up. Then I had to get towed 30 miles (thanks AAA). My bad for not getting it checked out when I should have and going on a trip. -
Gas mileage?
jamal replied to lager68's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/search.php? There were at least two threads about this in the last week. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31725 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31706 As for capacity, the tank will hold 15.9 gallons. When you fill up, there's still empty space in the tank, and if you were to run out of gas, there would still be some in the bottom of the tank. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=31792 -
400hp?

ooooh, and one more thing about TT engines. They won't fit in a LHD car. Well, unless you moved like the steering linkage and the brake booster I think. Of course, there are a few RHD postal wagon Legacies out there. -

Has Subaru Peaked?

I see a few inaccuracies there. Ummm... EVO? I wouldn't say DSMs had a bad drivetrain. The only major problem was the so called "crankwalk" problem which happened rarely on cars poorly modded to high hp. And when was the last year of the Eclipse GSX? 1999? Hardly "mid 90's." Everywhere else in the world, the EVO has been a competitor to the STi for the last ten years. Also, the two comparisons I've seen done in American car mags have both given the EVO the win. Both available with MT and AWD. I'd say the 05 LGT competes with both of those cars (although it is much less expensive than a 330xi). -
The struts are $58 us each for a 92-94 Legacy on tirerack. The 90-91 struts are more expensive for some reason. The only difference is the spring perch on the front struts is a little higher, so if you get a set of springs for a 92-94 with the right struts, it will be cheaper. You might also need strut tops and upper spring perches and such. I think that the GR2s and whiteline control springs make a pretty good setup, and will definitely handle better than your air suspension.

400hp?

yeah, except for maybe the fact that there's no such thing as a JDM twin-turbo 2.2l. The only turbo charged JDM 2.2 is in the 22b, and it's a single turbo. It's a lot easier to find a USDM EJ22t out of a turbo legacy, as it's pretty much the same block. The 22b block is the phase 2 EJ22t block, and basically, the only difference is that the phase 1 has oil squirters. All the TT JDM engines were 2.0. Want to learn about the EJ22t and what it's capable of? Read this. Here's a little excerpt from the thread: -
Has Subaru Peaked?
jamal replied to 9098's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
I'd say the new Honda AWD-SH system and Audi's quattro are more advanced than Subaru. The STi's DCCD, which rocks, is probably the only thing Subaru has on their level. VDC just brakes the wheels that slip. Yes, Subaru has a great AWD system, but I'm tired of everyone saying "I don't trust no computer to run my AWD" whenever Honda and Audi are mentioned. I think the new cars are the best Subaru has ever made. Yeah, the first gen legacy was great (I've got a 93 AWD), and probably better than the BD. Since the usdm WRX came out, Subaru has been kicking rump roast. The 05 Legacy is awesome, we have an STi, we have a turbo forester, and STi models of the Legacy and Forester are on the way. This is absurd...

Miles/gallons. Reset your tripmeter when you fill up, then the next time you get gas, divide the miles you've traveled by the gallons you put in. I have a gas gauge that isn't very accurate, so I need to keep pretty good track of my mileage and how far I travel on a tank. -

My mileage has actually been way up lately. Taking the roof rack off and putting a few extra PSI in my tires definitely helped. I was reading the other day that the recommended pressure on my door is a little low for modern tires and such. Now instead of 30/29, I've got 34/33. I could probably go higher. On a trip from LA to the Bay Area, I managed to get 25mpg with three passengers and our luggage for a weekend, driving 90mph (seriously that's how fast people go on that stretch of the 5). From here: -
Well, all the switches are on one part. I suppose if you took two apart you might be able to get something to work. This is my old broken switch. The auto-up is broken, rear driver's up doesn't work, nor does passenger up work. There are broken off mounting tabs and pieces rattling around inside. Maybe I'll take it apart one of these days.

You should really search for this type of thing first. Yes the whole assembly will fit the Impreza and Legacy. You need new rear strut tops because GDs have a different bolt pattern than GC or BC. 05 STi front struts will NOT bolt up directly (04 will). Also the car will ride lower with WRX struts as opposed to shorter OBS stuts. It might sag in the rear of the impreza because of the heavier rear end.

douglas vincent on legacycentral put a mercedes supercharger on his 2.2. I think he ended up breaking some things, but had like 200chp. I gave up on any gains long ago. I put some money into my suspension to make it more fun to drive, and when I've got enough to spend on power gains I'll find a Legacy turbo 5-spd. Or just get an STi.

I saw it out at the LA auto show. I wasn't all that impressed. Here are the pictures I took that turned out alright and I saved: I have a bunch of other pictures from the show in this folder if anyone wants to check them out. As far as the 9-2x goes, I really don't have a problem with it. I figured there would be plenty of older guys who didn't want the boy-racer image the WRX has been getting buy them.
