Steering rack rubbers
I would llike to know what you find too, as one of mine have shifted loose once before, causing a scary front end wobble so to speak.

Are Xt and Rx body's the same
Sold it to a guy in Levin for $1000 or there abouts. Wasn't completely satisfied with him but anyway, live and learn. No new engine that I knew of, I was second owner and brought it after the first owner died... I had been told it had some sort of reconditioning done on the engine, not a full rebuild as far as I know though. I found receipts for ~$700 of brake work. Fairly well serviced all of its life with the previous owner and while I had it. I put new timing belts on it. I don't really need tooo much for my cars at the mo. Only one I'm trying hard to keep on the road is the my '81 brumby, My little project, the rest are beyond saving. It needs CV's (repco are so F#@'in useless) and a few other little things. Still WOF'd and REGo'd though. Always on the look out for Gen 1's near me. Apprentice wages aren't the best tho. Also looking for some tasteful accessories (alloys- hint hint- rofl). Anyway, anything you needa know just ask me and I'll see if I can help ya. Kinda getting off track here.

I did a stint in a farm supply store, you could tell just which ones were 'real' farmers.... Not very socialized people that was for sure.

This is probably a stupid question but.... (NEED MORE HELP!)
Yeah pretty much what he said. If you only did the fronts, shouldn't be too much of a mission. Start with the wheel furtherest away from the master cylinder, so for those in the US, I'm thinking RH front wheel, no need to bother with the rears if you havn't touched them. Make sure you've got some spare brake fluid, and the reservoiur is topped right up. Helps to have the wheel off, and a buddy who doesn't mind brake fluid, or just pumping the pedal. find the bleed nipple, probably like a 8,9,10mm fella. Get your mate to pump the pedal a few times, then hold it down. This is when you crack open the bleed nipple, and you'll probably get air for a bit, but when your mate says the pedal has moved to the floor, You'll close it off---- While he/she is still holding the pedal down. Now get him/her to pump and hold it down again, you do the opening and then closing again. Do this a few times, till you get fluid coming out every time and no air. Remember to check and top up the fluid aswell every 1 to 2 times you do that, to be on the safe side. If it empty's you are back to square 1. The pedal should be starting to feel a little better by now. Repeat for the drivers side wheel now. Put wheels back on... Check fluid level. Hose brake fluid off everything--- Its horrid stuff. And you should be done! Anyone feel free to correct any errors I may have made.

This is why the piston is no longer moving. Have you bled the brakes after disconnecting the fluid filled lines?

bugga..
Ooooh Bad luck mate. That'd be 100% soul breaking material, I mean, just to catch fire and begin to toast itself while completely unattended. Good luck getting things back together and the way they should be.

Rotated! Todd, email on the way hopefully. I also am really digging the crazy eighties colours, had originally planned on leaving the brumby beige, but that green with white decals is pretty appealling at the moment. Cubastreet- I didn't enter the trackday, nasty clacky cv's, clutch on its way out didn't really seem up for it, I will be better organised next year. I guaruntee it. Pictures will be taken.

So while at an 'oldschool' meet this last weekend, I got talking to a guy who said he had some brochures I might be interested in. Two days later in the mail. AUS/NZ 1981 Subaru sales brochures. Mint condition! Looks similar to the US ones but a bit different. One has a price written on it, $12395! I have higher res if anyone would like.
