  1. How about 0-60(100 in my case) 12secs on a stock 81 brat? for me that is.....
  2. I agree with you there too.... 10second ea81 is maybe just a taad much though. who knows what one can run stock?
  3. I'm likin the talegate. Eventually you should try and get some subaru badges of that era to put on there somewhere.
  4. I'd be interested in knowing how the dualcarb stuff compares to what you're putting together. I havn't had any luck finding dualcarb stuff over here, Have been plotting how to make my own intake (or get someone to do it for me). Am thinking the heads need serious flow work first though. Anyway. That is irrelavent. Nice work!
  5. So uhh.... Whatcha doin with the dualcarber....
  6. If you can get a hold of this guy he might be able to help you. He does good stuff. EDIT : Link didn't show up http://xt6.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6899
  7. There was a guy over on XT6.net from Austrailia who made up some kind of switchbox to control his struts independently. It lifts high, and lows low, from the look of it anyway. Mega neet idea! I can't find it though. Surely someone can.
  8. I just found this thread... Yes yes Back from the dead I'm sorry. But it was really interesting and I'd love to know what has become of it! Anyone have any insight? Looks like we lost bubs not long after he appeared..
  9. This thread is interesting... My gen-1's are fast-----er than some cars-- not many though. And Slower than most. They do surprize some people though.
  10. Well... I didn't have much to contribute on this the first time, but if I were needing to do it, and on the cheap, heres how it might sound. I'd have a go at them with a wire wheel, or wire brush, then lots of sand paper, some kind of primer (or rust prevention you suggested), then over that with a few coats of your colour. But I'm definately no expert on this stuff. Can't see why it wouldn't work though. Is the rest of the car going green too? Pictures..
  11. I've learnt most of what I know from my father also, watching/helping him work on and with farm equipment, and having him to explain things to me when I don't understand them. I agree that the need and desire to learn is also helpful, now working in the automotive field, I end up asking my workmates lots of questions and chatting to them about different principles and things. Its a good feeling understanding something new like that. Its even better when you get a practical opportunity though. With some kind of explaination and help when/if its needed. Its good now being able to explain some new things to my dad now for a change, been a while since he did his training... Also, you guys here on teh innan3ts are an awesome resourse. Thanks to all the technically minded people willing to stop for a minute and explain something or lend a hand!
  12. gen 1 with ea81- electric ignition and some kind of aftermarket noise cannon. Best car evar!
  13. I like you mr range.... much admired.
  14. Could you post up some pictures of that Brat with the EJ22? Any bit of insight into how you've done that would be awesome. These Gen 1's look aws lifted. Keep the pictures coming anyone!
  15. As a pheasable vote, I go for worked EA81. I mean, ej22 would be awesome, go for it if you think you can, but kinda awkward IMO.
  16. Wow that guy in the sprite is keen. Roof down in the snow, legend.
  17. I wish things froze here... That looks like a hobby that'd be awsome. Hope all goes well for you guys!
  18. Well its not quite the same, but I'm the second owner of my RX and one of the Brumbys. Both were old guys, had owned them since new and kinda..died.... Thanks for looking after your prized Subaru!
  19. Omega is L-series. Usually low trim levels I think. Came in wagon and sedan form aswell. I've got an RX Omega, that ones my sisters, Blue interior--eww
  20. Ya vo-taxs = some other poor guys problem now. So glad to be gone of it. At the moment its got giant manifold exhaust leak so makes no boost, the hill holder is pouring brake fluid, chewing coolant, +330-000km worth of wear and tear. RX is much more sophisticated:rolleyes:
  21. The newer alternator. I havn't seen one of them before. Electronic ignition and a box full of headlight relays and rad fan relays. rust More rust repairs. Just rust repaired.... lots of missing trim. headliner etc.
