Nice photo thread - 56k potential death
Its a little hard to find any dualcarb manifolds overhere, but they are around. I am undecided as to which engine to go with, for now the ea71 is fine, but I have a few spare ea81's.

Yeah, ultimately I would like a dualcarb anything in there. I may look into custom manifolds though I'm undecided.

Thats cool, I think they're quite low geared too. ~4000rpm at 100km/h 60mph How does that compare with other 1400 powered Soobs?

Nice photo thread - 56k potential death
Hi Mike. There are one or two threads kicking around for the GSR. At the moment its in the process of being brought back to roadworthyness/legality. I don't know a whole lot about it to be honest, supposed to be rocking an ea63 dualcarbed 1400. Has boosted brakes with disc front end, not sure how else it varies from the usual 1400 Subaru series. Mine has been repowered with a single carbed ea71 (1600). I am looking into ea81 (1800) possible powerplants, transaxle where I'm stuck right now. Just found out the other day. It has an audible *beep* from under the dash when you exceed around 115km/h. It appears to have a bit more gadgetry than the normal ones too I think.

Didn't step out of 3rd, 120km/h. That said, we weren't running the full track. With some more power and grip she'd be a quite a go-er on the track. Perhaps with the gsr.

I have a feeling there is a difference in the front crossmember and perhaps the gearbox crossmember to accomidate the different setup... Someone must know 100% I'd like to know too.- My 78 brat...
Short how short? Replacing studs isn't all too hard.- My 78 brat...

Alright, I like to look at nice pictures of Gen 1's etc as much as the next guy, and its always good to have a bit of inspiration now and then too. Sooo... Be them pictures of nice gen 1's or nice (artsy I suppose I'd call them) pictures of not so nice Gen 1's. Just whatever appeals and you'd like to share. As you know, information and things can be hard to find on these cars. Any things from magasine articles or advertising from back in the day to all the rest. Think of this as the random Gen 1 pictures thread. Anything goes (with reason). As long as this is ok with the mods. I for one will be linking pics externally if that is a problem...- skid plate, pics wanted
Looks like an EA82T header, minus the uppipe onwards.- Racing FF-1 blog
From the look of the blog he's looking at an ea71 second gen leone for its 5 speed box or something. That was about 12 months ago though.- Racing FF-1 blog
Sometimes I wish I read Japanese... I would link the pictures from the blog but its being difficult. I can re-upload them if anyone wants. Some nice higher resolution ones.- Documented: The 1970 FF-1 Project car...
Fixed it for ya.Not sure on the whitewalls and those steels. But definately looking sharp. Perhaps different steels or some period alloys and fender mirrors.- Brat sliding rear window in Utah
Anyone keen to ship to nz........- New wheels
It really says set, but lets not let that get in the way of a good joke.- Searching for 10 "Junkers"
I hope those of us overseas can view the ad. hint hint- New wheels
I purchased a set of wheels this weekend, superlite style, no obvious markings or brandings but subaru centrecaps. 13-(I'm guessing 5.5-6ish) There are some on the wheels page but they're slightly different so I'd thought I'd chuck these up, they don't use the normal tapered wheel nut either.- Searching for 10 "Junkers"
Subaru acknowledging its history??! This I've got to see, I will be very dissapointed if they smoosh them all. Oh and I would help. But yeah... Countrys and stuff...- GSR Questions and Info
No problem Kevin. Wellington sounds great;)- Restoration project question
My opinion is also similar on this one. As long as it doesn't detract from the originality or someone else has already f*ed with it, Its fair game. That means ea81's, dualcarbs, 5 speeds (if do-able without major butchering), and other things are OK by me. Of course unless you have the uber original mega straight old-man original special. - I miss my soob
