I wish I could describe the sound better. Its not metal on metal, its not a squell. seems to sound like creaking wood I guess, kinda like abs but not as fast and more of a lower tone. I dont know about the pads although it passed NH inspection. No squeling noises, well actuall I do get a slight squel noise once and a while, but could never determine where it came from. I'll prolly take the wheel off tom. to see whats up with the pads and backside of the rotor. I'll update once I do this.

Tonight I noticed that I have a abs sounding grind coming from my front pass. wheel. Only that wheel, under hard braking, on dry pavement. The car stops fine and stops straight. I didn't notice any pulsating in the pedal, but I will have to check more thourghly. For some reason I didn't even pay attention to the pedal, as I thought it was a bearing or tie rod or something. The abs works fine as I tested it in a snowy parking lot after my discovery of this unknown noise. Anybod have any ideas? I guess I will have to go out and try it again, so I'll post my new results when I get back.

So my friends mother has a 2000 forester. She stopped up today because her front windshield washer had stopped working. Well I couldn't get that damn electrical green clip off. I tried just pulling, wiggle, and a screw driver to press in a clip (if there is a clip holding it down). I couldn't get it off, I told her I would install her new pump when she got it. How do you get this clip off, is there a "clip" that holds it in, that has to be pressed down while you are pulling up on the whole thing? once I solve this I need to know, Does the pump just slide out?

I got some through some pretty thick, decently deep mud trenches in my roo with crappy a/s tires. Just threw it in 1st and floored it. I was scared that I was going to be stuck in the middle of the woods, and have to wait for a friends, friend with a jeep to come and tow me out, but the roo held its own. So today i finally get to a parking lot with some snow. It was next to a strip mall so I was in plain sight of a lot of people. I only stuck around for 30 seconds or so, a couple different times. I came to realize my tires aren't very good in the snow as I have a hard time steering. I did realize that I can do donuts, I just have to give it hard gas (1st gear helps a lot, but 2nd will provide the same results). My question is, since I have a manual I have 50/50, why can I do donuts? Is it just because the back is so light and momentum is in my favor? why are both back tires spinning, since its not an lsd?

"future acrylic floor finish" it fills in cracks/scratches on hardwood floors, but also can fill in scratches on plastic pieces, such as headlights. It clears dry and you wont notice, I have never done this but a guy at a hobby shop told me about it. I bought a bottle and it seems like it would work, but I ended up trading my lights for others (not subaru related).

so apparently my clutch is slipping. I am going to be replacing it and I contacted subie gal through email. The clutch kit is for a 2.5na , so I assume this means it would not work for my 2.2. I am correct on this assumption? The part # is 32098AA020, it includes the clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, and flywheel bolts. and it is the non chatter exedy kit

....If it really happens I will consider it very much, since I know I could make the trip to WA with another roo. -

I would definately be in. BUT, there is no way I am driving from NY - WA - AK. If this happens in '07 I will be in CO for school, so I will go then. Not really a trip for a poor college student so I will be saving well in advance if it ever becomes a reality. -

Welcome. Roos are awesome, I have only had mine for about a week, but I've been checking out the boards for at least a month. I'm addicted -
fixed, well as good as its gonna get....The flash makes it look worse then it is, but I'm happy with it. Well, happier then 4 days ago. It was super easy, just needed to take the grill and headlight out. I heated it up with a hair dryer and it poped back out pretty easy once warm. The top of the original dent is still bumped up - and there is no fixing it. Thanks for the help

Well, I ended up using #1. I think it worked fine. If anyone knows of a reason that #1 wouldn't do as good of as a job as going thru the pcv valve please let me know. I also changed my pcv valve while I was at, and fixed my bumper. The bumper looks a lot better then the flash makes it look, but its till got a bump on the top half of the original dent and the gouges and sctratches are there to stay. The car blew 4 or 5 perfect smoke rings which was pretty awesome to see, I didn't have my camera ready for them though.

So I see this today when I get to my car...... I have no idea where it happened. I made a few stops last night so it had to have happened at one of them, but It doesn't seem likely due to where I parked. Really could have only been at 2 places, out of 6 stops. So day 6 of ownership this is what I got. Any suggestions on how to fix. Could i just take the bumper off and "pop" it back out. Is the silver, paint or vinyl?

Well I have this part #....32098AA020, I looked it up on subarugenuineparts.com but couldn't get any detailed info, I also did a search. I want to know if this is a stock organic clutch or a Exedy organic clutch? Also it says that it includes " CCH, Flywheel, BOL".... What does CCH and BOL stand for? I need a new clutch, obviously, and wanted to do a new clutch, flywheel, snout kit, t/o bearing, pressure plate....Its slipping very slightly and chatters quite a bit. I was also considering doing the PDM snout kit, any recomendations on if I should? Its for a 96 2.2 with 113K on it. I think I am going to do the snout kit just to be safe.
