I didn't try to tak any out since its been cold and wet. I only overfilled by maybe .1 or .2 of a qt. I am either going to try uncle scottys mix or this other stuff BG Syncro shift. 2 wrxers are using it and they love it, they dont have any grinds and can get into 1st now w/o coming to a complete stop. http://www.slowboyracing.com/shop.php?sid=PHPSESSID=fe9684c73e8a0b1df64fe9efd3f8e178&cat=883&PHPSESSID=fe9684c73e8a0b1df64fe9efd3f8e178

I saw on nasioc that overfilling your gear oil can cause grinding. I had a 2nd and 3rd grind. I used mt90 and 1qt syncromesh when I changed the oil about 1.5months ago. It seems that the gears are grinding more and more everyday, although the first week was pretty good (which was like spring warmth). I suppose it could be due to the cold weather, but I thought the new oil would be alright in cold weather. I did overfill the tranny a lil, so whats the verdict? I am sick of this grinding. My reverse grind went away for a lil while also, but that is back just like before.

It really depends on where the intake is going to be placed. If near the engine or in the engine compartment exposed to all that hot air, it will prolly lose power. Now if you have a cold air induction (a real one) wether it be boxed off in the engine bay w/ a cone in it, or in the fenderwell it will provide gains. You will not feel these gains but it will make the engine sound cooler. I wouldn't really worry about making a few more hp with your 2.2l. If anything get a drop-in K&N. Now all this being said. Plugs, wires, and clean intake will maintain the power you should be making and increase your mpgs and smoothness of the engine. Your engine will be happy and so will you. If your thinking exhaust will help, it wont help all that much. In order to get true gains out of an exhaust sytem you have to be putting more air into the engine. Think: more air in = more air need to be pushed out. A simple intake will not fit that equation. Exhaust is expensive unless you go to a shop and have them bend some pipe. But, its prolly not mandrel bent and your not really doing anything but wasting $$

2.5 question

^^^^^^^^^^ He meant phase II....I believe -
All AWD subie systems are full time awd. 4wd is where you get into the option of haveing 2wd or 4wd, and that is a completely different setup/system. The awd is great, all the time, it helps in handling on any road condition (including dry pavement) and of course the benefits are even greater in snow, rain, and mud.

You dont have to be slow, or all that careful with the razor blade. A whole window will take like 5 minutes, if that long. -
Dont get a 2000 or older 2.5L. 2.2 are not rare. I think it is a fact that the 2.2 is the best motor Subaru ever built. Outbacks (well at least my 96) handles very well. Im quite sure it cant hold up with a gt wagon, but I have had plenty of sport cars, and trust the outback handles pretty well for having so much ground clearance. I hear the automatic are more prone to problems.

I just replaced the pcv valve not even 1,000 miles ago when I did a sea foam cleaning. I didn't use a oem pcv, rather a pep boys pcv valve. I had trouble clamping the hose clamp on one of the hoses around that area. Is it possibile that some moisture got into the system thru this unclamped hose, and caused this dilema? I know its possibile for moisture to get in, but would it cause the problem? I am going to check this tom. morning when I change my oil.

I really dont think/hope its the HG. My coolant is fine, and I never hear bubbles. I haven't been keeping track of the coolant percisely, but it seems to be at the same level. The dipstick shows no abnormalities. I do take short 15min. trips everyday to work and back, I rarely go out after that. If i do its another very short trip - usually shorter. What would this have to do with it - ?not burning off the condensation? I talked to my mechnic and he said it most likely condensation from having very humid winters here. I am doing a oil change tomorrow morning, to see if any coolant show its face when I unscrew the drain plug. Mt90 and 1qt pennzoil Syncromesh - HUGE improvement.

Well it was sunny and 50 today :-\ so I decided to put my mt90 and syncromesh in. It call for 3.7qt...I put maybe 3.8/3.9 in - is this a problem? I checked my oil since I found that my left bank valve cover has a slight leak. It was down maybe half a quart. When I put more in I noticed a milky substance on the inside my oil cap. I was pretty light in color, almost like a off white/brownish. What is this nonsense? Its a 96 2.2 5spd
