follow all the old wires, that would prolly be the best way. Dont put speaker wires near power wires. BEFORE you do this, do.... If your going to run new wires, then simply take off the door panels, hook up the head unit and just run the wires to the speakers directly. Do this with the head unit on top of the dash and the speakers just laying on the floor. Do Not run the speaker wires until you determine that the stock wires are bad. - You do not have to use the wirring harness, just hook up power, ground...then here are the colors for the speaker wires coming directly off your aftermarket deck: White - driver Gray - passenger Purple - back pass. Green - back driver

I went back out today to try and find it using the screw driver trick again. I cant figure it out. I am thinking its a loud injector. I noticed that if I hit the throttle hard the tick goes away (this is all while I am under the hood) when the rpms are increasing rapidily, but on the return to idle rpm the tick gets real loud. Then it quiets down at idle but is still present. I also noticed that both VC seem to be leaking, slightly. I degreased the engine and washed it down so maybe tom. I will be able to better diagonose the leaks.

So the car has done this ever since I got it. Never really worried about it, just thought I see what you guys think. While the engine is running and the hood is open you hear a loud ticking. You can also hear this with the window down, driving next to a wall. It increases with the rpms. I figured it was just the engine being itself. I am wondering if anyone else has this, and If I should run sea foam thru the top again. Last time I did seafoam was 3-4 months ago its a 96 2.2l 5spd

I got a 96 Legacy outback 5spd, 2.2L for $4750 six months ago. It had 113K, leather, cold weather pckg, new windshield (lucked out - dealer had to replace it because there was a lot of pits in it), and it was in perfect condition. I bought this car to get out of the sport/import scene, so I could stop pouring money into cars and get back to school. I plan on this lasting me my next 8yrs in school with only basic maintance to worry about. Stay away from the 96-99 2.5L, they have headgasket problems. The 5spd AWD is pretty much bullet-proof. the 2.2L is arguably the strongest motor subaru has ever made.

Headlight Help

find a wall at night bring a flashlight and a screw driver......trial and error -
I have never noticed this before a couple weeks ago. My headlights dim when I hit the brakes. I started to notice this after i had my alternator bolt problem, so I figured it wad the tension. I now have the correct tension on it with a new bolt (that isn't broken). My lights still dim when I hit the brakes, dash lights too. I checked the connections at the alternator and they seem to be fine, I also checked the batt. terminals and they are tight also. Could it be a loose or corroded ground somewhere? battery? dying alternator? incorrect tension??

Limo Tint

Madico is really good tint. Thats what I had. My tinter has been using madico for the past 5 years at least and never had any problems. Yes, it was hard to see at night. After a 2 hour ride home on the highway in the pouring rain i decided to take it off. I kept hitting the rumble strips on the shoulder, and finally decided that was enough. i do not recommed any to do this. I got pulled over one night for tint on the front 2 windows, the cop didn't notice the front windshield cause the stickers were cut out from the tint for exactly that purpose. If the cop did notice the front windshield I would have either been impounded or have to take the tint off right then and their. -

what % is that? It does look real nice. I have been going back and forth on tinting my car, its white, so the tint would be kinda bold. If I did do it I would prolly do 35% on all 5 back windows. I still want to see. A few years ago I had a gtp with 20% on the back windshield, 35% on the 4 doors, then 35% on the front windshield (the entire windshield). That was a little too much, but I was young and foolish - the car looked great tho Couple of pics: http://media.unycgp.com/2002/2002-2-10/mod_day_02-10-2002_008.jpg http://media.unycgp.com/2002/2002-2-10/mod_day_02-10-2002_007.jpg http://media.unycgp.com/2002/2002-2-10/mod_day_02-10-2002_099.jpg .....I loved that Lic. plate, and the car - I will forever regret selling it
