I have a noise coming from the drivers side front tire when I apply the brakes. My only guess is that the brake pad is so far worn down that its just pressing metal against the roter or whatever it does...heh. My question is...are there any other things that would make this sound when you press on the brakes? Or is my guess most likly correct?

look for a 1995 Legacy L. I am semi-tall (6ft1in) and its very comfortable. Recently I saw a 1995 Legacy L with 90k miles for $4400 at a small dealer. It was sold before I could go look at it....but for the price and that low of miles...heh...it woulda been a sweet ride if it wasnt abused by the prev. owner.

If I could find a mint 1995 Legacy L like I have now...i'd buy it in a heartbeat. I don't really know if I want to drop down $20k for a 2004 Legacy L...they are not as nice looking...the fake wood trim...and some say they are not very reliable. I am sure they are more reliable than the Buicks and etc. that beat them in that article...just depends on how you care for it. The Legacy we have now didn't go in for any of the check ups. We changed the oil every 3,000 miles and used a Subaru filter. The timing belt lasted 190,000 miles...and so did the clutch. Right now there is almost 210,000 miles on it..and still going. I know I will be disapointed if I don't see 200k miles on ...but I think with proper care it'll outlast any other vehicle around $20,000.

1995 SUBARU Legacy sedan, 5 speed, AWD, 89,000 miles, $4,450. So I might go look at it today. I'd love another 1995 Legacy...5 speed...I just wish they mentioned color and other things. If it was silver or grey, had a sunroof, spoiler, or both...i'd buy the thing for sure...heh. I hope its nice or its a wasted trip to go look at it :-/

That isn't bad. I am looking at the Toyota Corolla S. Loaded for $16,400...for an Impreza with the stuff it has it'd be like $26,000 or so...heh. I also looked in to VWs...but they start to get expensive. Hyundais...but I don't really like them. Mazda...they seem like junk. Toyta seems like my best bet.

I wonder if it has that ugly fake wood on the dash. That is the one thing that is making me not get another Legacy (that and I cannot afford a new Subaru) In late 1995 my mom paid like $15k for the Subaru we have now. Cruise control, power windows, power locks, power mirrors. Those are the only fetures it has. I love it...but now a days a Legacy with the same stuff goes for $25k...makes me sad.

My 95 Legacy sedan had the same problem on the passanger side fender...then I hit a street sign with that fender...so its not worth fixing. I took it to the car wash and pressure washed it until it all came off...I was gonna put some clear fingernail polish over it to keep it from doing it anymore...but now I need a new fender. BTW, my Legacy is also a 5 speed...but with 206,000 miles :-x. I hope to see 300k.

Anyone here have any horror stories about Sears automotive and oilchanges? They are having a special now...$21 and $5 mail in rebate...so like $16 for oil, filter, and change. I'd do it myself...but I have an old Oldsmobile my grandparents gave me in the garage and its to cold and wet to do it in the driveway.Anyone here have any horror stories about Sears automotive and oil changes? I know Wal*Mart is just awful with their automotive departments (A buddy of mine worked at one…heh) So yeah…any info on Sears and if they are good or not is helpful. Thanks

Nope. When my mom first bought the car back in 1995 she didn't think it had a light...but it came on and we can get about 40+ miles from the time the light comes on. Sometimes it comes on and goes out...and other times it stays lit. (it flashes when the gas level is low and i'm on a hill or something but stays lit when i'm really low on gas)
