My long term plans, ie next spring/summer is to fly out west to bc, for either an RX or another Legacy Turbo. Here, It is impossible to find an RX let alone one in any good shape (damn salt ) . Or a Legacy Turbo, I'm after a corrosion free example, as here there are a few but all rusted, people just don't care about the great cars :boohoo: . Anybody else do this type of thing? Any advice? Once I got em over here, they'd never see salt, I'd put em away for the winter, and keep em forevAr Mark,

The last year of the 1st generation Legacy's (94) there was a Legacy GT wagon available. As for the second gen GT, they were available from 96-99. Basically all second gen Legacy GT's had the "bad" DOHC 2.5L engine. The 94 first gen legacy GT had the bulletproof EJ22 motor. Since 2000 the third gen GT's have all gone back to a SOHC 2.5L (phase 2) motor which is much better then the second gen DOHC 2.5L (phase 1) motor. Basically: 94 GT wagons are very rare, but most affordable, if you don't mind the somewhat outdaded look. 96-99 GT wagons all have the crappy motor. (96 didn't get the nice multi spoke rims and hood scoop, 97-99 did) 2000+ GT wagons are great, if your willing to pay the price of a "newer" car. Mark,

'87 RX Project Update (56K Beware)
LegacyT replied to Subarutex's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Awesome Car:banana: Just one thing, the wheels are a little big, 17's would look better IMO. Cool car none the less. Mark, -
I'm into it as well. Right now i'm building the tamiya Impreza 22B WRC 99. I also built a model of my full scale car, the Legacy turbo, since I by chance came across the Hasegawa Legacy Turbo kit in a hobby shop, this kits been discontinued since 94. I know fujimi used to make an XT turbo kit, I'd like to find that one. I'd love to find an RX coupe kit, but after searching I think no one produced a kit like that, and I also looked for an SVX kit but I don't think any one made that one either. Mark,

My SVX idea.
LegacyT replied to ringe's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX
Its definetly doable, especially since you said money isn't an issue. It will cost alot though. Mark, -
Interesting What This Guy Did to His RX

Have a look, very neat. Although I don't know where he got the 170 stock hp figure for the EA82T . http://cp_www.tripod.com/rotary/pg04.htm Mark, -
who makes the plastic model kit? I'm trying to find older subaru models. Mark,
-
Can't be an STi, first STi was the Legacy Turbo or Legacy RS Type R and Legacy RS type RA as known over there. Still cool nonetheless . Mark,

Can you get them from SOA/SOC still? Or have they all dissapeared long ago? Mark,

Where can you get the rx body kit? Mark,

87 GL sedan: Good for rallying?
LegacyT replied to chris_d_clark7's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
doesnt modifying the motor immedietly throw you into the top of the pack? Up against pro mod WRX's, EVO's and such. You'll prolly get butchered in there. If only the north american spec legacy turbo's had 210 hp (as opposed to only 160) like the overseas spec ones did then we would have a cheap competive rally car over here, with which you could actually stand a chance against teams with money and new wrx's. -

I have an 89 gl 4 door coupe and I was....
LegacyT replied to willbarrow81's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
nope, new generation wheels are 5 lug 5x100mm pattern. If you want new suby rims your gonna have to go with the convertion from an XT6. Mark, -
Does anybody know if I can get a plastic model of the RX Coupe. Also I know one company makes the XT Turbo, anyone know who that company is? I just bought a Hasegawa Subaru Legacy RS (Legacy Turbo) and can't wait to get a collection goin. Mark,

Good buy, hope you have fun with it. Mark,

rXSNRG- where are those RX's for sale located? Thanks, Mark
-
Haha thanks, Canada isnt that bad a place but the government tends to make us all look like idiots at times, even though the vast majority of us dont share the same views of our so called "leaders" :argue: . Man I'm getting off topic, oh well But ya, we definetly have more Legacy turbo's up here, but then you guys have more RX's Mark,

http://www.autotrader.ca you'll find a few on there. As for rust they range from pristine (usually people who know about and love these cars) to wrecking yard worthy (people who drive BMW's and benz's in the summer but still want winter performance) right now at the dealership where my dad works he says there are two for sale, a 92 sedan and a 93 wagon. the other dealership in Ottawa also has one I am told. And I found one in a yard a while back. Mark,

Actually up here RX's are far more rare then the Legacy Turbo (and I really mean far). Right now there are about 10 Legacy Turbos for sale within 500km's of my house. Still quite rare, but no where near like the RX. Mark,
-
hmm, Tempting, Is there any rust on your car?. If only you were closer though. Regardless, I'd most likely keep the Legacy and buy another car, The one being an RX or GL Turbo coupe. Any idea how hard it is to find the RX ground effects if I did get a GL Coupe? Mark,
