  1. I've driven both first gen Legacy's GC8's and 2004 STi's, I can say that chassis engineering and stiffness has come a long way in those years. Which leads me to ask, how to RX owners feel about the rigidity of their cars? does the interior crackle on cold winter mornings? Mark,
  2. I'm still trying to get ahold of a person selling an RX in Oregon. Two other deals fell threw, I wont go into detail about them. But I'm looking for a clean rust free RX. Has anybody heard/ seen any in in local papers, anywhere?? This is a car I want to acquire and preserve, not a winter beater or rally car. I'd never drive it in the salt. Hence I'm looking for a clean example. Thanks, Mark
  3. Don't expext to get that kind of power over here on pump gas, japan has 100 RON pumpgas, thats why they can push the motors more over there. Mark,
  4. Anybodu know of good international shippers? I plan on buying an RX in the states, since I can't for the life of me find one here. Mark,
  5. See if your low on fluid first if not, then replace. The pumps are noisey when low on fluid. Mark
  6. so basically its a Legacy turbo, you just had to look at the hoodscoop to verify that. Mark
  7. will the chassis be able to cope with the torque of the svx motor? Those EA81 chassis' seem quite soft, you might see yourself twisting it out without added support. Mark,
  8. the lsi also had lights in the doors that illuminate when opened, and a large vanity mirror with lights in the pass sunvisor. The turbo didn't get that-which is good Mark,
  9. The EJ22T has forged internals, including connecting rods, stock. The only thing inside that isn't forged are the pistons. But these are not cast, they are a thermalflow type, and are moly-coated. They are very strong pistons but not as strong as true forged pistons. But still very good. Hey pacific_import_auto, do you have any pics of your car and engine? I'm very interested in seeing your car. Are you on http://bbs.legacycentral.org ? Mark,
  10. Exactly Dr. RX, the Legacy turbo actually weighs less then a 2.5RS, let alone the wrx. The first gens are very nimble cars, they are only a tad larger then a GC or GD impreza. Mark,
  11. Any new word on this? I'd like to post some pics. Thanks Mark
  12. Yup 160 horses came stock on the legacy turbo, but its not enough. the 181 ftlbs is perhaps what makes the car so quick to the 30 mph mark. Mark
  13. fluid has a minimal influence on torque bind. Torque bind is caused from worn clutch packs, you probobly need new ones. That tranny shop sounds like they have no clue what their talking about. Mark,
  14. Ive hear'd time and time again that the EJ22T is not the 22B shortblock. That its a bored out 2.OL closed deck block. Like the one found in the 89-93 2L Legacy RS Turbo (EJ20G) (overseas). And thats it is. The North American ej22T is a bored out 2L EJ20G, they are Identical Blocks, same diameter, same everything other then the cylinder bore. Same Same Same end of question. And as stated the EJ22G (22B) is also a bored out version of the EJ20G. The EJ22T and EJ22G are the same shortblock, but thats it. Other then that the motor is different, ie heads, intake etc. Both have an identical displacement of 2212 cc's. The 22B does have oil injectors to cool the pistons. Does anybody really think for 423 units Subaru would go through the trouble of designing a new block when they have a perfectly fine example sitting in their inventory, that has been proven for 7 years prior to the 22B. Like any corporation they want to make as much money , while spending as little as possible. Mark,
  15. I love em!!! easier to get in and out. And when working on a car with the window down the missing frame is so much more conveinient. When I work on a car with a framed door I always at first bump into the frame. Subaru's spoiled me Mark,
  16. People saw AWD drinks gas I say thats complete untrue. my Legacy(not my turbo but N/A) beats my friends accord in fuel consumption
  17. I drove one last week. Absolutely amazing. I've never driven a car as fast that handled so well. turbo lag is almost unoticable. and once fully spooled it takes off like a rocket. Lotsa torque steer. It's scarry when you pin it- it almost wants to break loose. I love it . Mark,
  18. Yup the death for the baja is already coming. This is the last year for them here in canada. Even the dealership where I work is selling final models for $9000 less then normal-to clear them out. Kinda sad to see it go, I didn't love it, but didn't hate it either :eh: Mark,
  19. At the dealership where I work I've seen quite a few post 2000 Outback sedans. Mark,
