  1. I really like my justy. Reliable, cheap, economic, and it's slow (keeps me out of trouble). 112k is pretty low for the mileage, so it should be okay. Have fun! You will be surprised at all the tiny places you can fit a justy. I was amazed!
  2. I'm particularly interested in seeing turbo projects: -what have you done to prepare your motor for the turbo? -what are you using for fuel control? -how long has your engine lasted under boost? -Pictures?? I was hoping to NOT have to buy an expensive system like megasquirt, but it looks like I might have to...
  3. Great! Thanks Jim. Are you planning on anything "custom" with your justys (besides the mpfi swap)?? That's crazy you have 10 justys and cannot find an engine block! Good luck, Dylan
  4. That sounds pretty sweet! where did you get a motor like that? Do you have any pictures? I googled "Subaru Rex"... how cute
  5. Okay, I admit that I drive a '90 Justy. I am not ashamed. I have been toying with the idea of turbocharging it and had even written a post about it earlier. I hear a lot of people talking about their big plans for their justy project (i.e. engine swaps, lifting, turbo etc.) But I never see the finished product or even any of the process. Show 'em here please! I need more inspiration. Thanks, Dylan
  6. Thanks Scott!! It was a lot of fun! Hopefully we can do it again soon... I really want to take Jayden out in your woods with the '84. Here's last nights progress: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=11044&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=17795 Cut the back off my '84 that had a tree fall on it.
  7. I'll be over in a bit. I have to pick up Jayden at school, then have a quick bite to eat.
  8. Are those leaves and bushes that i see hanging from the front?? So, you've tested it a bit then!
  9. That's so sweet... I'd like to make my new one kinda like that, only keep it street legal a bit (if possible!) We'll see. I don't mind experimenting with a free car
  10. It did!! I am very excited about this new beast of mine. Should be lot's of fun! It's nice to have a car that's not a minority amoung subarus.
  11. Today's the day... I hope it makes it back. Wish me luck!
  12. It's just a roll bar, not a cage. sorry! It was his senior project in High school. May be a good start for a cage though since that car is probably going to end up looking like the blue bomber or something. I'll be picking it up on Friday... woo hoo!
  13. Now you're making up excuses! :-p Just kidding, congrats!
  14. Any idea on the cost of these things? that website is saying they want over $400 just for the oil pump cover... The oil light doesn't flicker normally at idle, but I have seen it flicker once or twice before. May have been a fluke, I don't know. Thanks!
  15. That would be nice to have a better setup, but I don't have a lot of access to machining or any fabrication experience. I can't seem to find the oil pump, even on that site. It's a bit difficult to navigate. I'll keep looking though, thanks, Dylan
  16. It seems like this is a common thing to "go out" on justys, so I want to replace mine before it's too late since I don't have a lot of history on my motor. However, I can't seem to find one anywhere! Is this something I have to buy from the dealer? Any leads? how much does it cost? Hard to install? Thanks!
  17. I was super excited to come tonight, but I can't make it after all. I'm sorry Scott, and really sorry Andy, We can finish your car sometime this week! Good luck guys, Dylan
