Pictures of my new Project Car...
There's usually at least a couple of gen 1's in each of the two NV Pick-N-Pulls here. That car looks to be in better shape than my '83!

Lake Tahoe trail run, Wednesday Nov 5th.
OK, so it looks like we're meeting at the Chevron in (near) Kyburz, just west of town on 50. 11 AM. TSJ knows some of some good stuff around there. I'll check around Tahoe along the way for any other possibilities.

I'll bounce a few ideas off Subieman, and post any results or changes.

New pair of shoes & Laces for the Brat! (Pix)
Brian, It might be better to go up US 50. We can meet in South Lake Tahoe (exactly still TBD), and hit the trails from there. I'll be coming from the east on 50. Can't speak for Jeremy, but that's probably the most logical route for him, too. Jeremy, let's get your 2 bucks on this. Hey, you know me..I have no problem meeting at 6AM, but I doubt we'll need that much time. I'll work on an exact location in South Shore by tonight. I'm figuring on a south-to-north run, that'll make it a quick buzz over to T's Rotisserie in Incline (you and I had lunch there, Brian). I've also got some printed maps of the trails.

They're on the east (NV) side of the lake..much easier access from South Shore.

Jeremy I was thinking about running a USFS trail that goes from the top of Spooner to Kingsbury Grade (sort of by the Heavenly/NV entrance) with Brian. Care to join?

Another possibility: stuck (or missing) thermostat.

TSJ: Are ya up for riding some trails above Tahoe? I've got a couple picked out that I'd like to try/see.

C'mon Andrew, it's not that bad...I don't have one either, but my bud who's a major FORD fanatic keeps telling me to get one, and I resist:-\.

I can keep an eye out for the caps and lugnuts if I decide to buzz by the yard real quick, might stumble on another cargo cover.

Bummer DEATH to A Good Bud from The Subaru World....:(
Yep, he was quite a character..heh, he acted like the tipping accident pictured above happened all the time (it was easy pulling him out, we wanted to go play some more). Terrible shame. He was a good guy.

Disc Brake Calipers
Tim, may I offer another alternative, not neccissarily a recommendation: Pick-N-Pull. Find a similar model with much lower mileage than yours, voila. Also might want to try S-Wing's Stuff. Subaru specialists, used parts. I believe this is their URL: http://www.s-wingsstuff.com.

ATTN: Scrub2k
Hey Brian-I found that extra radiator fan we were discussing awhile back..you still interested? (amazing what turns up when cleaning out a garage, LOL)

Fuji Heavy to build SAAB's
I read a little tidbit about just that, in Car and Driver. What I'm afraid of is seeing Subaru named in the "GM Family of Cars"..Barf-O-Rama!!

The Carson yard is closed on Sundays, Brian and I found out the hard way, LOL.

Where Can I Find Split Boot Cv's
I agree with the crowd that sez to stay away from the split boots. Been there, tried that..what a waste of time. Figure this: the cost of the split is what, about 15 or 20 bucks? Add to that the price of the grease, and your time and hassle (and the MESS) of cleaning the joint, all for something that probably won't work or last if you are successful. Do yourself a favor and get an axle for a few bucks more, about 55 bucks or so.
