  1. How about an SVX engine into an EA82? Or just Baja the HELL out of an SVX! (Maybe after a WRX Tranny Swap!!!) Ahhh, I'll go back to sleep now...
  2. My '91 Loyale is The BanditWagon. Lic Plate BANDITS. I use it to haul my Bass Rig to the gig. I play bass in a Speed Metal/Punk Rock band out of Detroit called the SmashBandits. This is an Urban Assault Vehicle! Fat Tony - http://www.smashbandits.com
  3. I saw this for sale on eBay. BIN of $6k!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-Other-1993-Subaru-Loyale-Wagon-4WD_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6467QQitemZ4624306970QQrdZ1 Is this a Bargain, or a Typo? Fat Tony
  4. After reading through this thread, I feel pretty good about getting my 1991 Loyale (AWD, 5Spd, Non-Turbo). I am getting it from a body shop that got it through a deal with the original owner. It comes with the original window sticker, and receipt's for everything that ever went into this car! The bodyman cleaned up the light existing rust, and undercoated everything, and made it his daily driver. After he looked into other offerings from Subaru, he bought a newer WRX wagon, and sold this to me for what he had into it. With body work, and a new set of winter tires, and all the major incedentals(Hoses, Belts, including Timing!) I got it for $1500. Probably not the Best price ever paid, but I think I'll be Cruising for the next year or 2 with almost no expense other than Gas and Oil Changes. And MAYBE a Stereo upgrade! 5. It looks like you can get in for less than $200... Here's few sites I found on Yahoo search Water Injection: Home - http://www.coolingmist.com/categories.aspx $200 - http://www.coolingmist.com/detailmain.aspx?pid=01250TBF Another site, starting at $189 A DIY site - http://www.dawesdevices.com/water.html FT
  6. I remember running an edlebrock water injection system back when i was terrorizing 5.0 Mustangs in my turbo'ed 2.2 liter Shelby Charger. I think it was an '87. It was the Turbo I engine, which is not intercooled. My brother had the same car, with the same mods, but was intercooled instead of water injected.(and had to add a HIDEOUS hood scoop!) My car was More Responsive out of the hole, and just seemed to get a little Extra Bang at top end. He got all technical, but in english it came out to the extra plumbing for the intercooler added to the turbo lag, and the water injection raised the over all compression minutely, since water doesn't compress. And, yes! Water/Alcohol was the way to go! With a Mopar Performance Cam, Header, 14 PSI computer, and a K&N Filter I pulled 14.6 quarter at 96 mph. With water injection it dipped to 13.9 right at 100 mph. Sureprisingly, I never raced my brother at the track. But, I'd go water injection of intercooling first. It's cheaper, and a lot easier to install. If you don't like it, you disconnect it, and fill in one hole on your ontake. Intercooling is a bit more work to add, and considerably more expensive. I don't think water injection & Nitrous work well together though. Something about water Freezing... Fat Tony - http://www.smashbandits.com:headbang:
  7. Thanks for all the posts. It is pretty much as I had thought, this is a car to keep stock, and running good. I couldn't find any aftermarket goodies, so I may fabricate an intake and an exhaust, which would probably let it breath better, and if nothing else, improve milage. I'll keep an eye out for some Enkei Alloy's to dress it up in the wheel department. Stereo will need to be upgraded! I saw pictures of the rust before it was fixed. It was pretty minor, and the seller, who owns a body shop asures me that it is quite sound, and the structural integrety is entact. (He is within Driving distance, should a Retaliatory Strike be neccesarry!) He is a Soobie Lover, although I told hom about this site, so I don't think he's a member here yet. More to follow once I get the BanditWagon! Thanks again, Fat Tony - http://www.smashbandits.com:headbang:
  8. Hello everyone, I'm in the process of getting my 1st Subaru. I saw it listed on eBay twice, and contacted the seller, negotiated a price, and it's now sitting in his barn! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4612435172&category=6467 He owns a collision shop, and got this from the original owner. It has boxes of documentation, and every old part that was ever replaced. It is all stock/original, and has the optional Roof Rack with Bike & Ski accessories. He fixed the Tyipcal Michigan Rust from the Inside, with high density foam, and then coated it with an undercoating material, and painted it black from the waist down. I pick it up April 1st. So, once I pick it up, I'd like to give it the Once Over. This will be my Winter car, and also my Bass Rig Hauler. I play in a Punk Rock band in Detroit, so I won't want to be broken down! Anyone have a Checklist of what to look at first? After I get it Tip Top, I'd like to do some minor performance enhancements. Maybe fabricate an Intake & exhast. Has anyone tried one of those Performance Chip Modules I've seen on eBay? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Subaru-Loyale-90-91-92-93-94-Performance-Chip-Module_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33553QQitemZ8046695272QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Any other performance ideas? I'd like to go to 5 lug's eventually, and an EJ transplant is a possibility down the road. But for the first year, I'd like to just get her running good, and have something to tinker with, and maybe do some Light Off Roading. Fat Tony - http://www.smashbandits.com
