Justy 4x4?
How it went from looking at ramchargers and such to toyota's,sammies, etc was because evidentaly my dad was willing to buy a vehicle but of his choice. He hates japanese cars because the "japs stole fish from the american fishers...)what the hell does that have to do with japanese cars?So anyway it went from a grant type of deal to more of a loan.I have to pay it back.. plus there is no way I can afford the gas on a V8...

Justy 4x4?
Im just wondering how a 88 Justy 4X4 would do offroad with 23" ATV or "ag lug" tires?Maybe a little lift... Offroad meaning trail running/mud, not rocks...

Toy VS Sammy VS Sidekick/tracker?
no the motor was fixed 4K miles ago.He had it listed for $3000 Wanted $2700 because of all the work that was put in.I tried to offer him 2000 CASH.No dice. Then I tried 2500 CASH and told him it was as high as I could go.Take it or leave it.Needless to say I am still without a car. What kinda of a moron turns down 2500 cash when its 200 less than what he wanted? I even showed him the 25 $100 bills...

Toy VS Sammy VS Sidekick/tracker?
I am trying to find a rig for offroad but some street driving as well.I might need to haul/tow something once in a while.Ive narrowed my choices down to 3 vehicles a toyota 4x4 pickup, preferable with a 4 banger, manual A suzuki samuari,4x4,2 door convertible, manual a Suzuki sidekick/tracker,4x4,2 door convertible, manual I found an 86 extra cab toyota SR5 pickup with the 22R-E and a manual. And it only has 144K,the head was replaced 4K ago(chain slipped, bent valves so head/valves/chain were replaced. And I can probally get it for like 2250-2500 cash. but should I wait for a suzuki?Im leaning toward the toy, because of the fact its a pickup.so I can fill it full of stuff, and toyota's legendary durability. But on the other hand those zuki's are micro offroaders, good for trail riding.. what should I do?Parents have decided no on a roo so dont ask...

Ag lug style tires?
I know those ag lug tires are fairly light and have a large tread void ratio.both are definatly tires to swap out at the offroad area..

Give subaru one more try?
this is where Im stuck.I never have run a car out of oil,I dont rod the piss out of them. And yet the subarus get hot just in traffic and then blow headgaskets. My saab on the other hand other than minor things(like motor mounts) hassent really given me any trouble. In deed the warmist it has ever been was about 3/4 of the gauge and that was pulling a hill with a lot of throttle and 109*F ambiant temps. The subaru seems quite content to overheat in 60*F weather just in traffic. But then again the subies I driven were a $600 84 brat(that had been overheated before I bought it:dead: )and a $150 87 wagon that needed a water pump...I wonder if a $1500 subie with no issues would be alot better?

Give subaru one more try?
currently Ive been looking at ramchargers and such because I seem to have massive issues with headgaskets on subaru's.Mostly ive had proplems with cheap cars and expecting them to be perfect. What If I were willing to spend a fair chunk of change on an EA81 car.IE really nice, low miles, never been overheated, full service history, etc, etc. I am having this crazy idea floating in my head about a EA81 hatch or brat with the EA82 FI and farm type tires(massive lugs, low speed, massive traction) and a welded diff. Now I found a way to make tires happen but Im not sure if I can the hassle of what my subaru's have been all over again. My dad is so fed up with the subaru being alwas broke he has offered to get a nice reliable rig.Only catch is I dont work on it.(theres ways around that...just no engine internal work.swapping carb to FI is ok...

Ag lug style tires?
I know its been discussed a million times before But what about 23 or 26" Ag lug tires?Rather than ATV tires.Normally you would have to have a 12" rim made. But what about these? http://cgi.ebay.com/2-12x7-Rim-fits-Kubota-Kioti-other-Compact-Tractors_W0QQitemZ230140700769QQihZ013QQcategoryZ82249QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem In the ad it even says you can modify the rims because they have a FLAT 1/4" center. Now the only question is will 12" wheels fit on the stock brakes? if so for 40 bucks for the rim and 50-75 for the tire you would have the ultimate offroad tire and you could keep your gearing and not have to lift your car(depends on tire size...) plus there is also "Blems" rims that are only 20... Im almost wanting to get a REALLY GOOD subaru Ea81...

Uberoo replied to Andyjo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI actually loved the buged eyed subaru's when they came out.still do.I wish I could afford one.the design change after that looks horrible. The 2008 looks like a camery-no identity.
