  1. is there a class for stock rigs?
  2. I routed it off the hose that comes from the water pump so that one is inlet. As far as the heater core goes...I think they are symetrical as far as flow goes...(fingers crossed). Then I found out that the oil hose that came in my gauge kit is too short if I run it through the fender like the wires..Maybe through some of the grometted holes in the firewall instead...
  3. on an 89 MPFI fuel pump there are two wires that go into the pump. One at the top and one at the bottom. On my pump one wire is red and one is black so I thought red is hot and black goes to the ground. After I wired in my toggle to the wire that the red wire connects to( yellow with strip I think)...when I turn the pump on I can hear it do something but I have yet to recieve any fuel at the fuel supply line.I am wondering if possibly I have it in backwards?so I just need to know what wire off the pump is + and which one is -.Thanks...
  4. ok which hose is inlet hose on the heater core on a 1987 GL wagon?
  5. um does the fuel supply go to the regulator?Or did I get the hoses mixed up?
  6. wow chain drive might be pretty cool.could work for the rear but there may not be enough space up front...
  7. if a bug can do it why not a subaru?
  8. and if you had a bumper for it it probally wouldn't have done anything. And it will take a couple of hours to make a bumper not a weekend.
  9. Im at the same stage with my ej22 swap.I could tee of a heater hose but I want a location that is connected to the engine with metal-direct link. That way I can see if Im overheating becuase of no coolant or something. With between the temp sender and the engine you lose that.I don't really want to lose my engine because it overheats because a hose burst or fluid is low and the gauge not tell me.Can the water distribution pipe come off without taking intake manifold off?
  10. so should I try to turn the pump on for say 5 seconds then attempt to start it?
  11. today was also a waste of time.I found some 1.5" id hose at schucks that was long enough for both upper and lower hoses. The upper hose was a pain and a half to fit because the power steering lines where right where it needed to be.Then when I tried to fit the hose clamps on I found out that the max diameter the hose clamps could go was the same diameter or slightly smaller than radiator hose OD. after spending an hour just to get the upper hose on I finally got everything to go on.Then I move to the lower one.I go to fit the hose on the radiator but there were some kinks in the hose so I tried torotate the hose so the kinks would even themselves out.The lower radiator outlet BROKE OFF!!Much cussing ensued.By this time the shops/banks were closed so I was SOL.Does a lower radiator hose on a loyale radiator come straight out or does it kinda loop around? If it come out straight it would be perfect. But I managed to wire the toggle in.wasnt able to get gas though. what is worse is the fact that I got out of school at 2 today instead of the normal 3:30 for spring break and I still couldnt get stuff done..
  12. subaru pumps are self priming?
  13. when I connected ej fuel wire to the pump it didn't even move.It didn't whirr into life for a second or anything just nothing.so I will just wire in a toggle, maybe even use it as a killswitch.
  14. how can the pump suck air and get fuel to lines?I thought air was compressable?
  15. When I changed my fuel lines over to FI grade stuff I ended up losing all of the fuel that was in the lines. How do I get fuel to the pump when there is just air in the lines?Car is an 87 GL wagon with a 89 MPFI fuel pump.
  16. today was a waste of time.I tried to wire the ej wire to the pump.Fore some reason it wouldnt even spin after that...Then I wired it straight to ignition + .Only problem was I wired it to the ignition plus that comes into the switch not the switched lead off the back of the switch which mean my harness has power almost all the time.Anyway when I wired it in the fuel pump would just stay running even with key off.So I tried to start it.Still no go.So I cut the wire I had just wired in.Then I undid the fuel supply, expecting gas mist or high pressure gas spray out.It was BONE dry. Then I had a friend listen at the fuel tank while I blew into the line.It was just a blowing sound instead of a bubbling sound which means someone pilfered my 2 gallons of gas that were in there while my car sat for a long time...so tommarow I have to find legacy upper and lower radiator hoses,2.5 gallons of gas and a toggle for fuel pump(it will be up in the dash somewhere. Not out in the open.Should be a good anti theft measure...)
  17. it is possible to wheel without body damage.although sooner or later...
  18. Does the seat flip forward?I know it bends forward but does the whole seat swing out?
  19. got done installing the fuel lines and MPFI fuel fump.I tried to start my ej swaped wagon.I had a friend hook up jumper cables to it because its battery is old and dead.tried starting it about 20 times.almost every time it would sorta fire off a hole. Then I tried spraying carb cleaner down its throat(didn't have starter fluid, also my o2 sensor is not even connected to the exhaust(it has no exhaust).I finally got her to roar after spraying alot of fluid down its throat while flooring it.But it died as soon as I stopped giving it fuel.Right now it will hardly run, will not idle(can't even get it to stay running that long)indeed the longest it ran was a second.Right now the fuel pump is powered off the EA harness.I will connect the ej wire to it tomarrow. Also tomarrow I will change the plugs as they are probally fouled like all hell becuase it sat for 4 months+ however long it was at pull and save.So after I get the the EJ fuel wire hooked up and new plugs do you think it might work?keeping in mind the o2 sensor is reading 73% oxygen or however much oxygen is in the air... wish me luck... its a shame I missed my appointment with the college welding shop to have them put an exhaust on it...
  20. if it wasn't for all the tall people in the world, i wouldn't feel short.
  21. simple. go to a pawnshop, buy a set of craftsman wrenches. If one breaks just take it to your local sears and you get a new one for free!
  22. on my EA82 carbi I have three lines let me see if I have this right Biggest line= fuel supply 2nd biggest line= fuel return tiny line = vent? or is tiny line the return and medium sized line is vent?
  23. ok then I will tear apart the interior and run the wire in as far as it will go(getting tired of solding with my 25W pen)
