  1. the smugglers hatch in the back.. where is that?Is it one of the side pockets or the box in the floor?Or is there more compartments?
  2. why not a diesel generator powering the motors at the wheels. It still would be heavy as sin.but would help in the mpg department.
  3. oh my christ! Carbed ej22 transfer case D44 or toyota 8" 44" tires ea81 wagon WOW words can not describe.Although to fit 44's you would need like 20" of lift
  4. I have had enough of autozone.I just told them to give me my money back all 129.90 of it(core+axle) so I went to schucks and bought a new unit with a lifetime warrenty:banana: for 100.Schuck's computer actually differences between SOHC and OHV 1.8 engines unlike autozone which just gives random numbers for the engines.Autozone kept bringing me an axle with 25 splines on the DOJ and saying that was the correct part(1987 GL wagon,Carbie, with 5 speed DR,I DONT THINK SO) Although axles with a lifetime warrenty ROCK!!!
  5. just kinda rambling with a million subaru related stuff in my head.ie why wont spacer on spindle play nice and let the axle pass through like it's supposed to.Or thinking I will install the new fuel pump.Where to get a tubing bender on the cheap(powersteering lines need adjustment to clear ej22). all the way to bumper designs and lift kits...
  6. you can make it so its 4wd.What do you plan on using it for?
  7. I didnt unbolt the knuckle.Swaybar and tierod end...
  8. I was able to stuff various things against the spindle houseing and nut to pull it through. But then I couldnt get the DOJ to go on.. do I put the DOJ on first or the CV first..
  9. yea its the spacer. There seems to be alot of vertical play in the spacer. If I move the spacer upwards I can see a gap at the bottom of the spacer about 1/8",if I move it downwards I can just see the top of the spacer.I dont happen to have any metal and my socket for that size seems to have dissappeared.that and its sunday and I have no money.can't run to the bank....argh just as I try to actually get something done on my subaru I hit several snags...
  10. Today I decided I would get off my arse and change out the driver's side front axle.Ive had the axle out for like a month, and ive had the new axle sitting in the back for about 2 weeks.Anyway As i go to put the axle it it keeps getting hung up on the inner bearings.I try to put the bearings where they need to be but they just slide down to where the axle's splines get stuck on them.Help.What do i do to get the bearings to stay where they need to be?
  11. What about the beastly of the beastliest-albies EA82 Wagon with 300 hp and 33" boggers.
  12. which wire off the switch itself?I pulled the cover off the steering colum and there are two wires from the switch. Then Iam running the ea starter relay... So for EA starter just tap in between ignition switch and EA relay? If I had everything wired into the ignition switch wouldnt it give power to the whole ej harness? And the ea switch is connected to the EA relay. So one wire right?Or do I just know far less than I think I do?
  13. which wire do I connect to ignition switch?I decided to go that way instead.I figure it would be nice to turn the key and have the engine start of the existing chassis wiring.
  14. Does anyone have a pinout of the wires going into the instrument cluster on a 1987 GL wagon with analog dash. Or more to the point the wires for tach, and charge light. And where do I run the wire for a external voltmeter gauge.
  15. After seeing an old post of how the ea pump would interchange with just a few mods.I tried it.It works just had to enlarge the mounting holes for the pump itself. SUBARU'S = GIANT LEGO SETS
  16. In the ea-ej write up it says that the EA82 power steering lines just bolt up to the EJ power steering pump.My case must be special as they don't.I have two female connections that butt up agaisnt eachother. How do I change the fittings?
  17. what about for the EJ there is like 2-3 lines that are the same diameter...
  18. what tire size you planning on?35's?37's? 40's(oh god that would be massive)
  19. so you bought the 84 huh?Sweet. Thanks to you my adapter plate is done.everything motorwise is done.Come to think of it I just need to drop the motor in,wire the harness into the body and sort out fueling...hopefully I will have most of that done tomarrow. So for the 84,lets see Carbed Ej22 Transfer case Presuming lift... Show pics when done!
  20. fuel in is the only line that needs to be fi grade?
