  1. I just found a set of old VDO gauges for my Ej22 conversion.Temp,Oil pressure, and a voltmeter... I think they are 2 1/8.They fit the style of the Ea82 gauges well...So do you trust the factory voltmeter? Also what is operating temp for an EJ22,and What is Overheating temp? The temp gauge is numbered...
  2. SJR makes 1.5 or 2" strut blocks for EA82. SJRlift.com
  3. why does one tire look like the tierod is broken because of the extreme angle its at?
  4. so then the sender for gauge could read "messed up" for all the ecm cares?
  5. why? run chevy or toyota six lug wheels...
  6. doesnt the ecu read of the temp sender not the gauge?I know theres values for resistance for the ecu temp switch...
  7. well I found out values for the ej and ea gauges at 122*F there is 187.6 ohms at 248*F there is 19 ohms on the EJ gauge on the EA gauge it reads as follows 158*F is 72 ohms at 248*F there is 16.1 ohms so I need a anti-resistor that has alot of anti resistance when cold and very little anti resistance when hot... I think I will wire in a temp gauge that's sender screws into the same spot on EJ so I know if Im overheating. With my luck a hose would fall off and I would lose the motor if I had a sensor on the upper hose... Anyone know the threads on the EJ temp sender?and for that matter the Ej oil pressure sender?
  8. I have been told that the EJ temp sensor will not work with the EA dash due to different calibration on the gauges.granted you can put the EJ temp sensor in but it causes the EA temp gauge to read low. What if you were to put a resister in line with the EJ temp sensor-EA gauge wire to correct that issue? The wire that goes to the ECU would still be the same...Is this a better way to do it or is it messed up? Or if I am opposite how could one increase the current enough to make the gauge read normal?
  9. looks important bah!!!It would be so awesome to drive around in a rusty, different colored subaru staion wagon. With broken taillights and cracked glass.Under the hood however, hehe can you say built to the nuts WRX turbo?
  10. cut your springs first and put an aluminum wing on.
  11. thats some nice clean fun.in that eviroment how can something be dirty...
  12. buy the strut tower blocks - that way your camber comes out looking O K...
  13. OMG is there a straight panel on that wagon?
  14. Personaly I think the whole idea of a moonbuggy is pure ************!I read though all 14 pages of that. The only thing ive come up with is some ********************* spent 75K plus on a rig that in a given day he will have only spent an hour in it.Said ********************* didn't even do ANYTHING on it other than provide the bank. For me half-3/4 of the fun is actually BUILDING it,or if you cant weld bolting pieces on.I respect the people that build cool rigs with there own sweat, blood, and tears.I repect the guy who spent 8 years of his life building a motor for his chevy s-10 on 3/4 ton running gear. granted alot of work goes into the buggies and thats cool.mad props to the welders and the people who designed it. The buggies are capable but I could spend 25K not to mention my time on a $200 subaru and it would be just as good.Something you could actualy drive for days on end.not this *************** richman ************ of driving the damn thing for 10 minutes, waiting an hour,10 more minutes then load the thing on a trailer. No vehicle as long as it moves under its own power should ever be trailered.Wheter it be an off-road rig or a numbers matching 426 hemi 4 speed convertable.
  15. so then where do I put the striped harness?
  16. I am swaping in an ej22 into my 1987 GL wagon/loyale.I was told that I have to remove the dash. How is this done?I removed all of the 10 mm bolts that I could find.the dash will move like 1" at max.so how does it come out?
  17. in Idaho it seems they need a title to it before they even start breaking it.as for them selling it.they sell at private party value or similar...not cheap.
  18. was your ej already turboed?NA ej22 do not like to be boosted.
  19. the throttle cable is long enough, unbolt the cable from the firewall.PCV-run the lines to your airbox. My electric choke never worked even on the hitachi.
