  1. they never said this was a trail rig, more of a mud runner.on the other hand if it was my rig it would have 300 hp and instead of turbos it would have a supercharger...all the power I could ever need...especially if the DR holds up to kinda power...
  2. wait didnt you say the motor was siezed?
  3. that is tall, how are you gonna clear the hood?
  4. Why cant do anything when it finds a hill?ITS GOT 300 HP-read 215HP more than your car came stock.
  5. the general concensus here is 27" tires on EA82 is right about right, after that you lose hill climbing ability.I am swapping in a EJ22 into my DR 5 speed wagon. What is an aproximate estimate of how big I can go before I lose climbing ability? Will 30"-31 be a good size tire?6" lift oh hell ya!
  6. will a EJ Flywheel work?maybe I could borrow a flexplate from junkyard...
  7. a boxer four? spider manifold?
  8. How do you keep and align the flywheels together? Is there something you can put in the center to keep everything aligned?
  9. noah can you trace both sides!? NOAH IS GOD!NOAH IS GOD!NOAH IS...
  10. I know this isnt EA82T related.Howver you asked to one person that had blown a headgasket without overheating. My 1984 brat had been overheated once and for a very short time.two weeks later it blew a HG idling and with the engine only just in operating temp... My 1987 EA82 blew a HG.... oops both of those had been overheated or close to it.. Can we argee that the cooling system is weak.
  11. how do you do that on a non interferance motor?
  12. I am trying to make a template for my EA-EJ swap.So far I have the engine side of the adapter(ej22) holes drilled in plywood, but what do I align the D/R 5 speed to to get perfect alignment?Money is tight right now so I can't just buy an adapter.thanks in advance.
  13. but,but the chains may be giving Cr@p axles but a lifetime warrenty-who cares...
  14. I am having a problem with my muffler bearings. They started going out after I replaced the regular blinker fluid with synthetic halogen blinker fluid. How do I replace them? BTW my cross-drilled brake lines work fantastic!
  15. I needs the dash and the rear seats!I NEED the people room(if I could ever get any to come along with me mudding...something about drifting up and down a icy moutain pass with no guardrails springs to mind,in a brat in 4 lo non the less.Or almost rolling said brat tring to turn around offroad..)
  16. I thought fords were 4X108,if you mean focus's,mustangs,etc,etc.
  17. would aluminim diamond plate sheeting in stead of the foam in door panels be better?
  18. You have PM!
  19. I want to lighten some of it to keep it from becoming a porker with all of the other parts I will be adding-EJ22,lift,swampers,lotsa lights,winch,etc..
  20. how does the roof keep rocks out?this is a trail rig.rocks arn't going to be hitting it at high velocities, unless a boulder decides to land on the roof.Or do you mean the rocks that get flung up when mudding? If I had a girlfriend I doubt they would even ride in it offroading..
  21. I just saw the thread "EA82 weights".Evidently my loyale weights 2700 lbs.Doesn't seem to light if my full steel bodied saab 900 with full interior come out at 2900lbs(its bigger too!).So Ive decided my loyale needs to go on a diet. Here is what Ive figured out to do:Cut roof off behind the last door pillar(like what scottinbelingham did)replace metal lost with Canvas with some light structure to hold shape.the Canvas and structure will be removable/foldable.the Canvas is lighter than steel so that helps, plus it gets rid of three heavy glass windows. next thing on the list is replace the remaining side windows with lexan.I plan to heat each piece of lexan to where it conforms with windows. Next up tubular bumpers. will that work?will the body still be strong if I remove the back section? Also this will be an off-road rig,but I need doors(it gets cold around here).the canvas will be relativly sealed to keep moisture out and heat in.. around here there is a ton of boats being made,so tons of covering makers,it won't cost to much to make the top canvas...
  22. so then the the SMJ you just cut out and spliced wires together?I don't know why I didn't lable things as a went.I had 5 hours to pull it,and the engine was gone...why didn't I just go ABS,blower fan, wipers, cruise control, etc.
  23. I just got a EJ22, and a ECU for 150 TOTAL(including gas-im 2 hours away)
