I am having the same problems though I am running catless with no rear o2 sensor. I would love to improve gas milage. The smog is no problem since I am in nevada.

I have a 87 rx does this mean I can put all the 04 sti parts on it?

Do you have to get the rear wiper from the dealer? I need new wipers the fronts are no problem the rear one has a strange clip any help would be cool. Please dont flame me for this Thanks Evan:grin:

I had to go drive it to really tell if it worked because my car would drive fine then stumble real bad like it was turning off. Even if I gave it more gas it would take a while to come back to life it was so bad I could not drive it. I had to play with it for a while to get it just right but after i did the car ran great. Now for some reason my car wont even start new problems not TPS.

I think it might be the terminals on the Battery, but I am not sure when I try to start it the starter makes a messed up sound like clack clack clack and its not turning over at all. please help me out guys. I think I should do the cap, rotor, distributor, and wires, but I dont want to start putting more money in to this thing right now. I am not sure if its getting spark or not.

Where is the best place to get OEM parts for cheap?

I was sitting at the light and all the sudden it started making the most crazy noise it sounded like my gears were grinding but I was in neutral. Then I turned the car off it started back up noise still there I tried to go throught the light I made it through the light the noise was gone then it came back and the car died and now it wont start the starter works so and I know its not a small problem I think it was a seized bearing or timing belt shredded. Please let me know what you guys think. My car is a 87 RX ea82t

Pretty much stock...except for Catless turbo back Converted to manual steering Converted to a two seater New engine from CCR Valentine V1 hard wired Roof rack from a justy I think I want to do a WRX or a STI swap so I am not going to do much to this engine.

Did anyone do the mod on page 26 or 16 of the PDF? I want to do this but think I might need to do some other mods first and replace my rear o2 sensor.

I think there just talking about fliping it around and cutting the excess off.

THe funny thing isevery time I have used the parking lights in say a parking lot so people dont hit your car at night. I get the customer sevice over the intercom saying there is a subaru in the parking lot with its lights on makes you feel kind of stupid.

There is a few posts I have seen saying the same thing its all good I am glad I never had to ask that one lol.

I cam across this Manual online its the manual that Subaru sent out the rally prep the RX. The place where i found this is no longer up so I made a PDF for easy downloading and viewing. http://level4racing.com/rxModManual.pdf

I dont think I am using any extra fuel. I cant realy add it up since I dont have a rear O2 sensor in my exhaust my fuel economy is down becuase of that I will be getting one in any day then I will do fuel enonomy tests. I can say its running ten times better than it ever has. Like the post on link says make sure your TPS is bad before taking it apart I would make sure I have a extra one before I opened the one from my car.

So I have been having TPS problems for about the past two weeks. I went to the junk yard to get a new one got two of them. One of them was from a RX one was from a wagon turbo (had a dirfront plug on it). After trying the one from the RX it worked for a while then started acting up damit. I chopped the plug off of the TPS I took off my car and wired it up to the TPS from the turbo wagon. That one worked for a while then started acting up again I know this one works so I tryed to change the mounting position of the TPS I turned it clockwise all the way problem got WAY WORSE. Ok I think I figured it out I changed the mounting psition again this time almost all the way counter clockwise maybe 75% and OMG all my throttle problems are gone I can drive with out my sudden power loss.

It sound to me like your TPS mine is acting up right now to. I took it off cleaned it it helped one part of the throttle and made another part worse you dont have to remove it to just try cleaning the the plug on top of the TPS the plug has a Wire holding it on.
