  1. I think it wise to consider the source, and consider what you write before you submit a post. Sko' has done two EJ swaps that he is currently running. Additionally he has offered countless insights and techniques to others on here to keep their vehicles running or in turning them into the vehicles they want them to be. How many swaps have you done, and what have you contributed to this board? Maybe you have done quite a few, but Sko is a known commodity here and his ingenuity and contributions are appreciated. Maybe it won't work, but the one thing you can always count on is that he will be thinking differently than others, and that in most places is called innovation. Keep doing what you do Sko. I personally think the reasons and applications are spot on.
  2. That would be great; what tranny do you have by the way? Thanks.
  3. Phizinza and gloyale, this is getting more like the type of information I am looking for. Does anyone maybe have pics of these trannies innards (aka with the cases split)?
  4. That's the rub... I know the EJ tranny's cannot, but I do not have much experience tearing into the older ea trannys and was hoping some of the gurus on here might have some more insight to offer...
  5. I am in need of some tranny info: Does any 4x4 ea71, ea81, ea82 tranny have a straight cut bevel gear or spiral bevel gear design? Basically do you know of any subie tranny that might be possible to essentially flip the diff to use the 4x4 tranny in a rear mount application? TIA
  6. Wow, that is truly great news. Blessings to all three of you!
  7. Good info... I tried getting a hold of them through the other bbs, and no response. Others had asked for the name of the shop for the adapter publicly, and they never acknowledged it either. I wonder if they want to be the only one using a th400? Thanks again.
  8. Sounding good bosko... but now where are pics?
  9. Does anyone know, or have an educated idea, on whether mating a subie ej engine, or ideally an eg33, to a chevy th400 has been done. If not done, possible?
  10. Is that an a/c condenser that pivots on your strut bar?
  11. IMO at least in Ventura County/LA county $600 without the harness and ecu, you are going to have to find someone that has a blown engine, headgasket issue, etc. to make it valuable. I had a ej22t, ABSOLUTELY complete swap including the 4eat with all wiring, ecu, tcu, tranny, everything from the fricking engine compartment that wasn't a piece of the frame, and I hardly had any nibbles and I was asking $700. Just my .02
  12. First, yes I know this thread is three years old! (But I searched, like we always like people to do) Having scoured through all of the old posts, I have never seen a good answer for this. What is the max compression one could expect to get on an ea81 that would be reliable, without having to go to custom pistons? I am wondering if 10:5-11:5 is possible/advisable. And if so, what would be the most cost effective way to get there.
  13. What are the specs... lift height, tire size? Nice wagon.
  14. Technically, yes. However some Smog guys are less stringent.
  15. Would you get those made up from stockton? What are they... black steelies with a chrome dog dish and beauty ring? My monitor quality isn't the greatest, so I cannot really tell...
  16. Are you running the ej22t? What kind of rig is it in?
  17. Ended up being two things holding me back with the heater box- first the hoses on the heater box inlet need to be removed-- and of course the hose clamps were put on in such a way that the head of the screw was pointing down to the tranny where it was impossible to get a screwdriver to. Lovely. Got that taken care of. Then the other thing was the freaking ducting that runs on the tranny hump into the rear passenger compartment. Nevertheless once those were removed, it slid right out.
  18. I like the unmowed grass around your daughter's wagon
  19. I would try to do that if the engine was still in the car and running It is now sitting on an engine hoist, and the wiring is a ball in the trunk of my car!
  20. THanks for the info, although the noise is consistent, it does not come and go. If it appears that way in the video it is probably a result of my poor videography and the poor microphone (it was just video from my digital camera, not a camcorder).
