  1. Yes, I could definatly use one. It is getting like 10 mpg, belching black smoke under full boost, and it even slows down during wot. If you can stop by on a saturday or friday I would really appreciate it. I could help out with some gas if you like. How much would you want for the maf? I will probably be doing the axles and hub this weekend. If you want to come by I can provide food and drinks. I am at ends wits with this car. I can round up some stickers for you in the mean time.   2. Mine has been doing this for a long time. I think its the maf sensor.
  3. My subie(87 gl10 ea82t 5 spd). I have done nothing but baby this car. It has had new struts, rotors, calipers, a brand new jdm ea82t, clutch, axles, interior, wireing harness, air intake, exhaust(factory), and only the best tune up parts, oil, and filters, all in the past year(except oil and tune up parts of course). Basically I am sick of having old cars and dropping a fotune to kepp them running, especially one I cannot feel safe about putting my 4 year old son in the back with a booster seat for fear of it not having a shoulder harness. The axles are already going out after 25k miles, the wheel bearings on the passenger side are shot, the damn maf sensor is shot, the climate control is starting to mess up, and my windshield broke for no reason(That I can find). I am going to try and finagle with the parts place to replace my axles under warrenty(lost reciept), take the hub and bearings off the 85 wagon and hope they are in better shape, screw the windsheid I can still see, and hopefully WJM will hook me up with a maf sensor if I can ever get around to finding him some stickers(sorry dude). That should get her ready for the ohio winters I hope. As far as its punishment goes, I have been contimplating(SP?) and am pretty sure(while supplies are free) I am going to debadge it, strip the roof rack and fill in the holes, and paint it flat black from a spray can. Why you may ask? I just read in the new SCC mag about the sti they did and it looked cool so why not? I have all of this to do while selling my house, fixing the camaro, helping the wife with the kids(I had a new baby girl a few weeks ago. Her name is Lindsay Ann), working 12hrs a day, and keeping my sanity while being behind in bills. No biggie right? I will then drive the crap out of it on gravel roads like it probably wants to be driven, which could be why it is breaking. It is retaliating aginst me. Then in about a year I am getting my new legacy GT wagon, while retiring the 87 from daily driving privlages except in the winter. For those who read this thanks. /rant
  4. Man I wish I could make it. I cannot as funds are very tight. I am in the process of selling my house, new baby, moveing, finding a job, etc..... If only it was the croatan national forrest. All you NC guys should check into that place. Lots of dirt/gravel trails, and more mud than you can imagine.

  6. Thanks for the help. I will check the hose and the maf as well tonight with a fluke meter. Assuming it is the maf that is bad, WJM, how much would you let one go for?
  7. Wouldn't a check with the multimeter be able to tell that? If so I will check it. Hopefully if it is bad someone will have a maf they can sell me. Thanks for the tip. Couldn't it be the fuel pressure reg? Or do those not go bad very often?
  8. This problem has been haunting me for a while. It has become so bad I am beginning to hate my suby. 87 gl10 ea82t 5 spd wagon. Basically after the car warms up anything over 4 psi boost will cause the car to decelerate and pour black smoke out the tail pipe. It jerks a lot like it is hitting fuel cut. I think it is electrical because when the car is cold it runs great. I have done the following to it to no avail: new ngk spark plugs gapped .045 new wires new coil (oem) cap and rotor are newer. they appear to get glazed after cleaning then going for a drive. cleaned injectors(seafoam) new intake(old one leaked air past the maf) new pcv valve new coolant temp sensor new o2 sensor always 93 octane new fuel fiter I am at ends wit here. It is not throwing a cel, and the ecu has been cleared. I am very frustrated to the point I want to sell the car. Please help. BTW it mostly does it in 2nd gear. Thanks
  9. I think it could work, But on a carbed vehicle the blower sits under the carbs so you would have to make an adapter for that.
  10. A little o/t here, but does a N/A car's vacume zero out when applying the gas like a turbo? Or does it pull more vacume, or stay the same? I was just wondering because my sube sits at 25 in/hg, at idle, and under boost it reaches 7 psi. Now if it didn't have the turbo and the vacume stayed the same, than wouldn't the turbo be creating 31 psi in order to bring it from 25in/hg to 7psi boost?Does this make sence to anyone?

  12. Sounds like your radiator is clogged. Have you washed out the fins in it lately? sometimes while mudding, or dirt blasting the fins will clogg and not let any air through it. If you do need a new radiator pm me, I have a good used one i will sell you for $30 plus shipping.

  15. I am not sure what body parts you are looking for, but I am about ready to scrap a 85 ea82 wagon that is still in pretty good shape cosmetically. What do you need, I will hook it up for you for next to nothing?
  16. I am close I tow a ch-53e helicopter(36000lbs apx) with a a/s32a-42 tow tractor(14000lbs), and i have towed with a a/s32a-30a tow tractor(8ooolbs). Like I said, I wold just be worried about the hitch coming off on the brat. Drive cautiously.
  17. I towed a wagon with my wagon for about 50 miles on a car dolly. I didnt have any problems, other than the paranoia that the class 1 tow hitch was going to break off.

  19. Thats a nice snorkle. Did your suby actually make it out of those deep holes on its own? pretty amazing if it did.
  20. Just wondering if this would be a good idea? If it recirculates hot exhaust gases back into the intake manifold, would blocking it off help reduce intake temps? Would the engine still run fine? TIA.
  21. Mine just died as well. I replaced it with a gp sorenson unit, and some ngk v power plugs. It runs soooo much better now, than with the accel coil.
  22. Are they a custom order job, or things you pieced together? How much did the pipes, and joiners cost you, if you don't mind me asking?
  23. That doesn't look like an ea82t at all. Where did you get your piping, and intercooler? I must know. That looks SWEEEET!!!1111!!! Also is that a vf34 turbo? did you make the flange? how much boost are you running? Man i'm speechless at how nice that looks.
  24. here's mine. it has been lowered by cut springs. I also just got new white wagon wheels for it. New pics soon. Clean ones.
