  1. I'm from a valvoline family. And have always used it myself, with good results. Either way, the recommended viscosity is 5w-30 IIRC. The brand is up to you.
  2. Ok, I forgot how much I had lowered that thing... I couldn't get my body under it for a decent shot, but here goes. If this was a better picture you'd see a slightly corroded version of what opelsuby posted. And maybe less of my face, lol. And for reference, this is an ea81t fuel pump.
  3. 5 minutes, give or take and I'll replace this text with a picture from my hatchback...
  4. That looks like part of the a/c system.
  5. The universal replacement pump I used on my 86 was 3 psi. Any ea82 carb pump will work for you. If its an efi pump it won't work.
  6. Look at it this way. All those oe parts lasting as long as they have is a testimate to the durability of our cars.
  7. If you are using your car's stock electronics then you should use the 82 model distributor. It should slide right into place. Just be sure it lines up right. And you'll be golden
  8. I think he's wanting to do this on an ej22 swap in the future.
  9. Those plugs are junk. Buy the oe NGk's
  10. I think I'll forego the yellow joke just this once...
  11. I've not actually side by sided the two. but the cars are within a half inch of wheel base. It shouldn't be too big a deal.
  12. Are you talking about the wire or the metal thing? The metal thing is part of the fuel vapor system. The wire IIRC is speaker.
  13. Thats some beautiful scenery in those pics.
  14. Hi, My name is Shannon. And I will own a Subaru until the day I die. My story starts back in the first memories of my childhood. There has always been a subaru in our driveway. Ok well at one point there were about 10, 4 Brats ranging from 79-86 an 84 GL Wagon, 86 4wd carb sedan, 88 4wd GL wagon, 89 DL 4wd wagon, 90 Legacy L, 85 2wd sedan, 82 2wd GL sedan, those were all here at the same time. Since then in mom and dad's possesion have been a 90 L wagon, 92 L wagon, 98 L sedan 180k no problems at all. I've owned since age 16 when I started driving 4 brats one 84 T-Brat, and 3 86's, an 86 GL hatch, 87 STD 4wd hatch, 90 LS wagon, an 86 std 2wd hatch, a 91 Turbo Legacy, 95 Brighton wagon, and an 06 2.5i Legacy sedan. Yeah, there have been other manufactures owned in that time. But I have always owned at least one subaru. When the others break or blow up I've started my subaru and drove to where I needed to be. I did my first major mechanical feat at age 13, putting an spfi converted ea81 into the afford mentioned 88 GL wagon. There is no other brand that I've been loyal to and I'm not afraid to say it.
  15. I would say its a little steep for an 82 DL. But it is in good shape, and have extra stuff. I would try to talk them down some if it were me.
  16. Sounds like you've got a game plan. Thats always the best place to start. I would highly recommend getting the FSM for your car, and for the year wrx that the motor came from. That will make the wiring go smother, once you learn to read it.
  17. Universal coilovers on ebay are between $40-$100.
  18. Is this going into your Impreza you've got under vehicles? See you might be confusing people by just calling it an L because thats the official Subaru series identification for the ea82 cars. I hope you got the wiring with it, or plan of doing a full standalone engine management system. The ej22 trans will hold up to the power level at stock pretty well as long as you don't abuse the snot out of it. But your main worries will be wiring, engine crossmember(you'll need one with the scallop for the up pipe), and exhaust.
  19. KYB struts aren't terribly expensive. And I know for ea81's they come with the stock style height adjustments. Wouldn't help your cause much as it will only raise the car, but look into it for your loyale.
  20. Our world is flat... I've seen a yota roll bar in a gen2 before. I think the legs had to be shortened some. It's been a while so I can't be for sure
  21. Like inferring that I'm gay in his post about his annual inspection on nasioc?
  22. I do care... I just saw his first...
  23. Yeah, the cat in the downpipe will be the easiest to tell. You pretty much have to cut the pipe apart to get to it.
