Phase II EJ251 into 95-98 Legacy questions
I just reread your first post, I missed a pertinent question. Is the car manual or auto?

Phase II EJ251 into 95-98 Legacy questions
You'll be looking for a 93-97 (maybe 98) impreza. These are the only cars in North America that came equipped with the ej18, 93 and 94 are strictly ej18 cars, 95-97/98 were a mix of ej18 and ej22 but it won't be hard to spot the difference.

Phase II EJ251 into 95-98 Legacy questions
That iacv doesn't function the same electronically. It won't work with a phase 1 ecu, I had that thought several years ago. I actually think I suggested trying it in Chux's thread about the car he was talking about above. Either way, I tried it for myself on one of the cars I've done this type of swap in and no dice.

Can I use a 98 Impreza wagon exhaust on a 97 Legacy Wagon?
86BRATMAN replied to Nbe1210's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXCats and o2 sensors are the same as what is on your car already. unless they are bad there will be no problems.

Phase II EJ251 into 95-98 Legacy questions
ej18e throttle body is the missing link. It has an integrated iacv that functions exactly like the rest of the phase 1 divorced iacvs. You'll need the tps plug from the impreza harness because it's connector is different, you'll have to simply repin that. You'll also need a sheet of metal to make a small block off plate to bolt in between the throttle body and manifold, this will cover the ej251 iacv port in the manifold.

Weird curb weight number
86BRATMAN replied to janas19's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe 1st gens also have a decently heavy automatic seat belt system and large steel crash bars, whereas the 2nd gen has manual belts and composite crash bars with skinny steel reinforcement.

5 luggin' a fwd
I have a bad mainshaft bearing ej 5mt up here I'll donate the stubs from if you're interested in doing it.

5 luggin' a fwd
Is the gl a 5mt? If so you can swap the stub axles to 25 spline stubs. Requires disassembling the transmission, but it's not a difficult job.

Can I use a 98 Impreza wagon exhaust on a 97 Legacy Wagon?
86BRATMAN replied to Nbe1210's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDriver's side hanger on the muffler is too long, it'll have to be cut it'll live in the tow hook. The hanger on the midpipe may fit correctly if you extend the piping before it, otherwise it'll be off by a good bit. Strategic placement of the extension(s) will make it work though.

86BRATMAN replied to Nbe1210's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXNot without modification, the impreza exhaust is roughly 5" shorter than the legacy. A could of the hangers are also in different places.

5 luggin' a fwd
From my experience, and a few others on the forum, legacy/impreza axles are a bit too long to work in the ea82/xt6 platform without extending the control arm roughly an inch.

The rear subframe is essentially the same, minus the mount for the front of the rear diff. The swing arms are what the sway bar mounts to. Make sure to use 4wd rear struts with the 4wd swing arms unless you want a 2" lift.

Subaru GL keeps shearing the CV roll pin at the trans stub shaft
Advance auto lists ea82 and ea82t axles as fitting ea81 cars as well. Neither type will fit lol, you've just gotta be smarter than the person at the counter.

Your ea82 na is 23 spline, only the ea82t transmission have 25 spline stubs.

Can I swap a 2003 SG Forester auto transmission into a 2000 SF?
86BRATMAN replied to jmoss5723's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIf it helps, my old 99 legacy gt has been running an 02 impreza RS 4eat for 2 years.

86BRATMAN replied to jmoss5723's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThe code may be different, but they are electronically compatible. And it looks like the final drive ratio is the same. There should be no problems swapping these.

86BRATMAN replied to jmoss5723's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI've done several difficult and different swaps in my days. But I think I'd rather throw myself in front of a moving car that attempt what you're thinking of doing. The complete wiring harness from the 00 will have to go into the 04. Every. Last. Bit. And that's just the beginning. Many of the body side connections are different; lights, door harnesses, dash harness, the 04 has dbw where the 00 is cable. I could continue but I'll stop there.

Difference Between XT6 And GL DR Clutch
Yes, you need the 24 spline, the 21 spline is a 2wd clutch.
-
Lowering an XT6: what is involved?
The 08+ impreza suspension as a whole is different, but there have been people who have used them on ea chassis. Huck's original frankenwedge is currently running 08 wrx coilovers in NC.

Lowering an XT6: what is involved?
I'd venture to say if the front needed lift spacers to level it out that it has 2wd rear struts installed. My old xt had 2wd rears on it for a while and it had a massive rake until I got the right struts under the back. You can get 4wd kyb rear struts pretty reasonable from rock auto. As for handling the situation with ground control, the closest match suspension wise to the ea82/XT platform is the 00-04 legacy or 08+ impreza . There have who have used 08+ impreza coilovers before, though posts about fitting them are few and far between.

5mt duel range clutch fork
Cable clutch legacy/impreza fork will work too.

Are these the right gcks?
Remans in general such because they're using substandard parts and minimal quality control.
