pass a group of jeeps on the trail as a member of a chevy caravan and people dont look twice.... pass up a group of jeeps in a bunch of lifted beater soobs eatin up the trail like its cornflakes, and heads spin 360 degrees!!!! Once you've owned the soob that's made for you, you'll understand! until you get whiplash when you pass a SWEET gen2 wagon on the road wondering for just a second if you have time to flip a u turn and catch up to tell them how nice their car looks, you don't understand......

that's perfect! I wish the dealership i bought my imp from would do cool stuff like that! (they dont... it's a REALLY bad dealership.... dont buy anything there if you're in nor cal and lookin for a new roo! Courtesy Motors= the root of all evil!)

thanks turbone! I knew if i put in that request for useless comments bit that i'd recieve at least a few!!! hahaha:Flame:

Alrighty, so I know I've read threads on this before, but i can't seem to find them not that it actually affects me....#1: How much modification is required to put a gen 1 roll bar onto a gen 2 brat? #2 are there any other trucks with roll bars that will fit without much modification on a gen2? Such as a yota or little dodge or chevy? Again, I'm sorry for asking an old question, but i'll appreciate any reply's, even useless ones!

i dont recall the color... no camper though. you are right about our wagon situation up in grass valley/nevada city.... there are SOOOOOOOOO many! I think nevada county may have the most subaru's per capita in the US..... it would be cool to do a study on that.... and then whatever county won, Subaru could invite all of the owners to a get together and give away a car or something and do a HUGE photo shoot with all of the cars for an ad.... that would be SWEET

First brat I've seen within 100 miles of my house in a year and a half! Beautiful Gen2, but they were in such a hurry to leave K-mart that i couldnt run fast enough to track them down!!!!!!Anyways, if it's your brat, I say BRAVO!!!

so i have an '06 2.5i that i put 03 WRX seats into......problem is, the wiring harnesses are different to hook them up so the airbags work.... any idea of how to convert the wiring so my airbags will work again???? Any help would be AWESOME!!!! (p.s., the airbag for the '06 passenger requires a weight sensor to turn the airbag off and on depending on if theres an ocupant in the seat!!!)

Anyone want an 81 brat? I am moving and have to let her go. It's all torn appart as I was going to paint it... all of the parts are there EXCEPT the seats. It ran before i took the wiring harness out, just needs a new one to run again.... Located in Northern Ca. I have the pink slip, so it can be used for parts or a project....I NEED to get it out of here ASAP, let me know if you're interested!!!

well, i know of a couple of places up here where i live that will pass it no matter what, so if you cant get it to pass, let me know

NewSoobdude, what town are you in?

Ok, this one is REALLY sketchy, so i dont recomend it unless it's a REALLY tight pinch....up front exhaust leak + aluminum foil folded over about 10 times and wrapped around the leak+ Zip ties= passing SMOG. Just dont let the car get TOO warm before you get there or the zips will melt and not smell very good!

my dad doesnt know how to change a tire...... i had to change one for him when i was 13..... good stuff

my latest was simple, but effective. Getting specialty wheel locks off. (not the kind you can buy a key for at autozone).... Use a malet to pound on an old socket one size smaller than would fit over the lock. use and air wrench to back it off. then to get the socket off in order to use it again, you need to advance the lock onto a spare post. (i just used an old car that will never be road worthy again). you're socket will be toast, sodont use a nice one unless its craftsman. I'm sure i'll think of more, i just happened to use that one yesterday.

so since it's raining, i cant really be out tinkering..... and since my schedual is full, i dont have time to take any basic classes at the community college... i'm wondering if anyone happens to know of any good books or vids available so i can learn some more of the basics of working on our cars, aside from just reading a chilton manual....Any input would be awesome, even if it's to tell me i'm a wussy and i just need to go tinker in the rain!!!!

i have not made it to chico yet unfortunatly..... I'm out of town for the weekend, but i'll probably try and swing by next week to take a peek. Mainly just to see another brat, since there's no way i can pull anywhere NEAR 5k for a car. do you take that old girl 4x4'in ever???

Thanks GD, always there with a helping hand!

i know for sure there is SURFACE rust in the bed. other than that, i'll have to look really closely to see if there is any more anywhere else.....are you concerened about surface rust?
-
yeah, i think that was confusing enough, thanks!!
So now the question is... WHO WANTS TO HELP ME PUT IT IN!!!???!!!??? haha. this is one of those time i wish there were more soob people around here!! (ok, i wish that pretty much all of the time...)
-
actually it wil lbe going into a gen 2. So if i put in a 5speed tranny, i'll have 4 driving gears and 2 4WD gears?? I dont get it.....
-
subieguy, i'd still like to sell it to you, i just hate to have you drive so far for a car that needs SO much TLC! If you still want it, come and get it!! It's raining, so i cant even begin to get photo's, plus it completely torn appart into a crazy disaster zone..... But come on up!!
-
i've been wondering that myself. i saw a car on here in someone's picture folder that was bobbed front AND back?? I've been planning since day one of being into brats to bob one up, i just figured i'd cut and paste... REAL info would be nice!! haha
-
So I'm pretty convinced im going to buy a brat from Born_a_brat if i can get the price worked out and everything looks good when i go check it out.... its a single range 4speed. how do i make it have hi/low??? Just put a 5speed tranny in it??? I dont get it.... help me out here.....
-
before i go tear it completely appart and take pictures of everything and put it in the forsale forum, im wondering if there will be any interest in any parts from my 81 brat. if i could get just a few brief responses with what you might want and what you would pay for it, i'll decide if it'll be worth my time to part it out to someone, or just scrap it....
-
that's pretty sweet. i think im going to try and go for alot of detail in the pattern.... mainly because i have access to a paint booth, so i figure i might as well try and make it as good as possible....

i dont know, I'd say Nevada County is probably pretty high up there on the list.... it doesn't matter who has the most, story still applies, that would be a SWEET advertising campaign! slogan could be "everybody's doing it!".... or something...... whatever, i think its a cool idea
