  1. almost forgot....i need to finish my exhaust setup. Its close to the driveshaft. Its a combo of sedan/wagon and it needs some adjustment at the cat and just after. Has anyone run 2" exhaust? Is there a noticeable difference in tq loss?
  2. should be able to go. swapping lifters! ive got a bad one lol.
  3. subaru lovers of washington is universal. I like it. But we should division-ize WA from others. I also like off-roo'd. Its nice to hear jeep bashers on here too! Im a Toyota fan, build Toyota wheelers, and personally, build supras. Toyota and Subaru all the way. Proven to be reliable, buildable, convenient, and fast when work is done.
  4. Thought unimogs were planetary? 120:1 would probably be required for me to even consider real wheelin/crawlin and not puddle jumping or trail hopping. Plus the ea81/82s would no longer be underpowered for the setup. Essentially, with stock tires in low 1st gear is still not enough for me. 3.90 and 1.5 isnt geared down enough for most of reiter pit thats for sure.
  5. I own an 09/85 2wd sedan FI. Much different? I believe its the first one they really sold. Auto, power everything, a/c. It did have a check engine code but it also had a very old o2 sensor. I could part with the dist.
  6. Maybe ill consider what Monstaru is building. Build new engine crossmember that sits higher and trans mount essentially at a stock height, trim the factory front crossmember for diff fitment and gusset, and trim/bang for sammy case and mounts. I like the idea. I cant stand how boggy it is even in 4lo with 29s. It needs regearing, even if the diffs stay 3.90s. On that note, how much better will the ej22 react with a setup like this? Less hesitation? I own a 92 legacy touring wagon turbo, so I know its got a lot more power.
  7. Hey guys, anyone got a spare ea82 thats been freshly rebuilt to lend me? haha
  8. I do like the sammy t case idea of all things the most. I doubt i would ever lift a subie over 8" and drive it on the street. Mine with the sway bar installed has body roll like no other. Ive noticed theres a lot of you guys modifying and wheeling these subarus in the Snohomish county of WA. Ironically, thats where im located.
  9. I will keep looking around. I did find the combination of a 8" lift and running a rear diff up front under the engine, but I only have the 6" and i dont plan on changing it.
  10. Ive heard of this done once before on one of these forums but I cant remember where or even if it worked out. But if not, can it be regeared? Having 29's it doesnt help with crawling offroad.
  11. I guess i should have been more specific. The spfi engine came out of a donor vehicle, installed all new gaskets, swapped the intake manifolds and carb, and put the engine in the carbureted chassis. As for the carb, i tore it down, found the plunger to be very weak and not sealing, the needle valve wasnt seating correctly, and a bunch of dirt all over the place. I just grabbed my other carb off the shelf and no issues so far. Thanks!
  12. I do know this has been covered before....I did a search and couldnt weed it out. Ok so carb was operating correctly before the engine swap. Then i dropped an spfi engine in and swapped the manifolds and distributors. Problem was, a lot of vacuum lines were plugged or missing so i tried my best to plug most of them off depending upon how they were run. Everything goes to a source or is plugged off. Ok so after timing it and etc. I dropped some fuel down the carb and it fired right up. The fuel lines were installed correctly as i double checked with another car. The problem is either tapping the key a few times or firing it, fuel comes out the front out of the accelerator valve i do believe. I pulled the top off, checked it, cleaned and reset the float and reassembled and the same problem. Is it the plunger on the accelerator valve or is it a further float/needle problem? It keeps flooding the front right of the carb. Thanks
