Haha ive been sitting on this stuff for awhile now just coulndt make up my mind what to do with it and it wasnt in the way. coupla beat up blocks, coupla good turbos and exhaust manis. intakes, odds and ends. I am playing with ej stuff now if you want to do some trading let me know. I would like to see these heads put to good use. Sam

Hello folks, I have 3 or 4 sets that I need to deal with, im not playing with that motor anymore. I have some that are cracked and some not. If anyone wants em I will be welding up the cracked ones with my handy dandy tig! I will be cleaning and inspecting them over the next week to see what I have to work with. pics and a fs thread are coming. Sooo the question(s) is.. anyone interested or are they scrap!? Is anyone interested in having a set welded up? I can rebuild a set befor selling em, any interest there? daft punk rocks. that is all. Sam

I'll be running a stinger ems. It's about the equivelant of megasquit but handles older subarus timing sensors in it's stock config. Bigest downer is no avcs control, I'll have to upgrade ems if I go that route. Megasquirt can now handle 2001+(I think that's the right year) Subaru timing cofiguration now FYI. They still don't have any avcs control either though. I'm setting up an ej22t block and 2.5 dohc heads. Sam ps... As for turbo location, I'm building an up pipe to rotate a stock type turbo, just as easy to build 2 as one.. Maybe even replicate my topmount setup. My car is an 89 rx.

Hi Vagen, Im not sure what your looking for in an intake but I have my old soob speed intake(and strut bar for that matter) just sittin around the shop if your interested in it. shoot me a pm if so. A few other things in devolpment that may be of some interest also but more on that later. Sam

my mounts rotted out. the rotten trans tunnel has been replaced, just need to sort out the mounts. if i dont find a pic ill install the shifter assy. and sort it out. shifter assy. is abit of a pain but not as much as redoing mounts because of interference. sam

Hi Miles, exhaust is custom and not built yet for that matter, with an ej/t swap. chassis is an 89 rx. Sam

i dont want to hit the shifter assy. which unfortunately isnt installed at the moment and i also dont want unnecesary angle. if i line it up dead nuts straight then its mighty close. I really didnt think getting an image of the stock location would be so difficult, guess i was wrong. what a drag. sam

Soo, Im rebuilding my carrier bearing mounts this evening and there is quite abit of room for interpretation there. I will be up all night and in the shop so no time is too late for the pic to be used! If anyone can snap a pic of that area that shows abit of the relation between driveshaft and floorpan area I would greatly appreciate it! Anyone have any experience with this stuff? The car is an 01 malibu I am trying to sort out an issue for a friend.. I think I have come across a variant of this problem. I am posting in hopes that someone can solve this problem for me and save me the headaches but if not I will share whatever I am able to come up with. The car is is an 01 malibu and has the symptoms of a faulty passlock. The car was drivin out of gas(or nearly out of gas) and would not start afterward. I am thinking this is unrelated to the current issues. 5 gallons have been put in the car. Fuel pressure has been verified by gauge at the rail. Car starts and runs normally for 2 or so seconds and dies immediately. The door locks are not operating properly, I was told that this just started but I didnt observe it personally. I have tried the 10 minute reset thing a few times over. I have also tried to bypass the passlock with a resistor(930 ohms measured 950 ohms used) A few observations.. The theft light doesnt blink, its always on solid. The dash lights hesitate for abit before coming on when the key is turned to the on position, about 5-10 seconds. i havent checked this against another car but it seems abnormal. despite the 5 gallons put in the car the gauge still reads empty I checked for codes with a cheapish autozone scanner, a cts code came up, was cleared and didnt return. The scanner didnt have any real time information modes unfortunatly Any help would be greatly appreciated, I will post any updates. Thanks, Sam

Posted this awhile back and was asked for some pics of the brackets. I am redoing and rebuilding a few things(new thread on that later!) so I got some pics of some of the hidden bits. Pretty straight forward stuff, ebay ic with new brackets welded on and tabs welded to the chassis. Rubber mounts between brackets and ic. Ic is mounted as low as it can possibly go. I have a scoop on the hood, I plan to shroud the ic and shield against the turbo. Sam

Hello all, I am going to be swaping my 89 RX to 5 lug soon and I am looking for some ideas for shocks and springs or a coilover setup. I am open to a subaru part swap that works really well or ideas for spring rates and dampening. The car again is an 89 RX that is mostly gutted with an ej22t. Usage will be mostly hard street driving in the snow and some offroad driving/rallycross type event. Roads in my area are horrible with as much pothole and buckling as smooth road. I would like as much or abit more travel than my rx has stock and some control over dampning though thats not mandatory. If anyone has any ideas off the top of thier head or a good idea where to do some reading that would be great. Thanks, Sam

backinbrat, Ill get some more pics up soon, I need to pull it all apart to paint the brackets and chasis. As for specs, its a pretty stock 89 rx with some gauges and some lights. subyrally, Ill get more more pics on that also. I have a 36-1 wheel welded to the crank pulley, edis module and coilpack, 280zxt injectors and an innovative wide band. Thanks to everyone for the kind words, I can see mostly a messy half finished engine bay at this point. The idea of whats to come is still there also. Relocate the battery, rewire and remove the stock wiring harness, take out the dash to rewire and make foot room.... on and on.. Sam

iluvdrt, the ic is from ebay, CXRacing (for the 02-06 wrx/sti?)and the pipes are my own construction. The bov is installed over the stock hole. 4WDFrenzy, MSnS extra is up and running, I have about a 1k miles on this setup. Alu. radiator, bigger turbo, e85 tune... on and on.. Sam
