  1. SWEET ive been looking for that link you rock:headbang:
  2. + 1 on a set of gear wrenches, chraftsman makes shallow sockets that fit their gear wrenches, also the flex head are the best , they lock in at alot of different angles, their on sale now for only 89 bucks. ouch, the sockets are 25 bucks. , i wold look hard at the cam seals, like everybody says too...
  3. if you have the flywheel machined you have to have a thicker clutch disk or pressure plate to compensate fot the amount of meterial taken off by the machening, they usally come in sets
  4. Look for the 02 sensor wire , make sure it didnt touch the cat and melt. my craptachi did the same thing "86 gl sedan" i re'hooked the wire and it ran perfect. i do also beleive that they had an idle solonoid , check for power to it, or even the engine ground straps. the ground is more likley the problem
  5. thanks GD ill pull her apart today. and look
  6. the cel did blink, but isnt constant. ill replace the coolant sensor whit a good one , thanks all. oh and i just did a re seal and all new timing belts idlers etc.
  7. are the front and rear axle shafts the same on ea82 gl wagons. i cant seem to find a listing on a rear one
  8. new update, it runs perfect when its cold. untill the regular idle speed is reached. then lopes at idle and on throttle
  9. i just pass gass and then i dont notice it
  10. i just warmed it up and drove it. is hasatates not just at idle, but under acceleration and maintaining speed at 55 mph. its not like the typical surging or loping that the loyale s have, this is different
  11. i have a 92 loyale ea82 spfi, all stock. 4wd, it runs good no problems in acceleration, the problem is it drops in rpm randomly. id dosnt feel like an ignition problem, it kinda lopes, like your shutting off the engine for a half second, i have a new battery , good alternator, i just changed the engine out, so i cleaned all the grounds, ive had 2300 miles since the engine change no problem, the engine came out of my ole trusty rust bucket never gave me any problems, untill snow flys, arrgg
  12. i had a local exhaust service station custom bend y pipes, 30 bucks for two, and i welded them to my cat, the local junkyard sold me a used cat and wrote "for scrap purposes only, not to be installed" most junkyards now are cutting the cats off before they put it out for bone'ing because platenium is up to close to $1400 an ounce ,you can get 35 bucks for a small converter now
  13. been awake for 25 hours yay come on global warming, hurry up! HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA go algore
  14. a "dry graphite lubricant" does not attract dust or dirt like an oil based lube. thats why it works for locks, otherwise gunk would accumulate and seize the tumblers, or in this case the centrifical weights of a seat belt mecanisym
  15. count the splines, it should be 23, unless its a turbo, somtimes they can also be a little nicked , check each spline for dents or nicks, also somtimes rebuilders will put rust protectant on it , you can use a small file to remove the nicks, paint thinner or kerosene to remove the grime. you may have nicked the hub as well, look inside the splines. i have had some go on hard. if you can get it on enough to start the axle nut you can use the nut to draw it in all the way..
  16. ive had small oil leaks from the cam seals, drip a small amount of oil on to the cat converter, and also power steering fluid, or even gear oil fom the driveshaft seals.
  17. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=5409&d=1196729716 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=5408&d=1196729716 http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=5407&d=1196729716 the first pic is a new crack developing around the radieous rod mount, its fresh, you can feel a wiggle in the front end every time you brake. poor old girl , time to yank all the parts and say goodbye, looking for a rust free 4x4 bad engine cheap, preferable east of the mississippi .sedan ,hatch ,wagon. anything ea82
  18. i have 26 inch tires on now, but have trimmed the fenders way back, i have the old ajustable rear shocks cranked all the way up, never rubs.. i admit ive never done a dukes of hazzard 30 foot jump......yet yyeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaa. coooeee i love it
  19. yikes its gettin mean out there
  20. i did a test on ice with and with out 4wd engaged, their should be a marked inprovement in the acceleration on ice, in 4wd drive. or you could have an observer look from outside?
  21. plugged cat. internal meltdown
  22. is this an auto or manual trans ?
  23. Dittoes on the 5 speed swap. i automatically dont like automatics. stupid 4000 rpm at 55 mph, arrrrggg, maby slap a rear diff in it. ive never seen a cruse cont unit in one, cool
  24. they say "prelube" so you wont grease them so you weare them out faster and buy more, ive even drilled and tapped the bottom of the ball joint and installed a zerk fitting, never have enough grease , living in swamp and salt country...
  25. has any one had expirence with running 31x10.5, im running 205 65 15 now with no lift kit, ive done extensive fender trimming, i can bottom out the suspention with no tire rubbing, i plan on installing a 4 inch lift kit, my question is .. is 4 inches enough (thats what she said) to run 31 s . i like the variety of tred patterns for this size tire. i dont want to find out the hard way that the tires will rub , im a little worried about the extra width ie 10.5, ..oh and im using pugs in front and chevy redrills in the rear..
