2" Lift kits for EA82?
Something I've been meaning to ask for a while. What does DOJ stand for? Blank, Blank Joint? I'll do a search on the net, maybe I'll find my answer. -Tom Edit: Well the only thing I can seem to find for DOJ is "Department Of Justice" And if I type DOJ cups, thats just it. everything says DOJ axles Lol.. DOJ, hmmm? Direct "blank" Joint?

2" Lift kits for EA82?
+1 yea the stock axle/CV angle is pretty much flat on the EA82s, I didn't know the EA81s had a more extreme angle stock. Thanks Bill  -Tom

2" Lift kits for EA82?
Haha, so it wasn't fun? I think the EA82s have less down travel (Bound) then the EA81s. But dunno, this is the only Subaru I've been up and close too. Boy, now I'm excited about getting the lift! Thanks guys!

2" Lift kits for EA82?
Hey Bill, Yea I know its a strut only lift (Adding a type of spacer(s) between body and strut top) so thats what I've been figureing in my head (Nothing needs to be extended) But how come on SJRs site under the 2" kit, he says "Extended steering shaft is needed (Not sold by SJRLIFT)" Thats whats confuseing me Lol.. I did read that whole thread that Jeff posted (Good thread) Ok, yes or No. The 2" SJR kit will not need anything extended? Just trying to make heads or tails out of it -Tom

2" Lift kits for EA82?
1337, oh its really the steering shaft! But why? From the kits I've seen, its just an alloy or steel spacer (Per strut) that bolts in so the top of the strut is mounted lower (In result rising the car up) Its not like I'm moving the steering box down. Jeff, yea was thinking the steering shaft running from the SW to the box wouldn't need to be messed with since the steering box is staying where it is. Thanks for the link, I'll read up on it! So ok, why do I need to extend anything if I go with Scott's 2" kit? its just some "Blocks" per say for each strut correct? I will read more about all this in that link and any other thread I can find in "Offroad", I'm just a little confused. -Tom

2" Lift kits for EA82?
Well, I'm finaly really looking into a 2" lift! But what brands are their? I know SJR but he doesn't offer the longer steering shaft (Arm?) I looked at ByB but they don't seem to make 2" kits. I'm looking for a 2" kit that comes with everything, Any ideas please? Also, when people say the steering shaft needs to be extended they are taking about the arms right? Is it hard to change them? on a scale of 1 to 10 (Oil pump/T belts/Cam seals being a 3 on that scale) Guess it can't be all that hard, almost everyones got a 2" or higher lift. Do I need to worrie about the alignment? -Tom

Cb
PS: Can you post a link to where you found that CB? I want to look into it more -Tom

Cb
Width looks right, but how deep/long is it? I would check how deep the hole for the ashtray is and then look at how long the CB is if it would fit, I'd get one! "I don't have the ashtray, just a hole where it gos :(" Now your making me want a CB!

Douglas Tires
LAMO! well I had the 165/80R13s Word to the wise: Stay away from Douglas, Uniroyal, and any other tires you can buy from Wal-mart. Remember, Their not a Toy store, Clothing store, Electronics store, Hardware store, Tire store.. Thats what I keep getting told everytime I ask or complain about something by the people that work there. -Tom

Douglas Tires
Yea, the tires I used to have on the wagon were Douglas Xtra-trac 13s. Bought them from wally world and put about 3k on them till I just got the pugs with BFGs! The Douglas didn't seem loud but they were soft, sidewalls were too weak. From what I've heard Douglas tend to blow out alot (Mine havn't and don't look like they would) I can't complain, they got me thru 2 winters wiht out getting stuck (But then again subarus don't get stuck ) The BFG Long Trail T/A radials are good tires!

My wagon with 14" pugs with 26" tires!
Alright, heres some before and after pictures. These are from when I first bought it in July 2006: Yes the fenders were shot, so I bought new ones from the dealer back in '06. And now the after! This is how much I cut, Now I need to find a way to fasten the plastic insert since the back part of it used to rest on the fenders lip. Subaru sticker! -Tom

Bill, Yep will do if I go that high! So, your making lift kits too? Lol who isn't... Side note: Has anyone bought SJRs replacement rear bumper for the EA82? I really want to get one, but from the picture on SJRLIFT.com it looks as if theres no opening for the tail pipe? I gotta contact him, Anyhoo thats for looking everyone!

My wagon with 14" pugs with 26" tires!
The Dude, no havn't gotten an answer yet, but the center caps for the Soob wheels are way to big. about 1/2" to big (Cant modify that) Gloyale, yep trimmed the front last weekend and the rear does hit a little when going over big bumps at higher speeds. anyhoo I just need to bend up that lip with a rubber mallet, then I should be good! Thanks guys!! Also looking at buying that replacement rear bumper from Scott (SJR) in a week or so. It has D hooks, Trail hitch cupler, and spare tire swing arm! So I'll post some pics when I get that I think it bolts in to the stock holes, right?

My wagon with 14" pugs with 26" tires!
JesZek, yea the CVs will ware out a little quicker (Maybe) I mean its on 2" more stress on then, so it mightn ot be bad. As for the test, yep. I know its off 10-15mph. Cause I know how fast I'm going when i'm running at 3200rpm in 3rd (Was 45mph) but now it reads 35mph. "When you start blowing past other drivers at a bilistic speed, then you know your speedo is lieing" Phiz, Thank you! I went with white cause I see alot of Soobs with white wheels in AU (exp: Lapsed old GL wagon) and they always looked cool.

My wagon with 14" pugs with 26" tires!
Your doing that to a EA82 wagon? sounds cool, your gonna lower it 2" more! That 2deg negative should increase the handeling. -Tom
