  1. Howdy! This is Gabe. Please give me a call when you can. I'd like to bring the Soob over on Friday night. 509-668-4492

    Thanks!

  2. Thanks, Sorry for the repost. Guess I just don't know how to use the search function properly. I'll take it off soon!
  3. I was told by a 4x4 buddy of mine that many people take off the anti-sway bar in the front of a rig to help with flex. Has anyone done this? Why should/shouldn't I try it. Thanks, Pyro
  4. I put a couple more washers behind them, now it won't rub. But it's still weird it's only rubbing on one side. And I can't figure out what might be bent to cause it to rub. Seems like the wheel or hub would give before the swingarm would.
  5. It does not hit much now, but I've already spaced it out with a couple washers. I'm afraid of spacing it too far. Doesn't it have to have the middle ring on the hub inside the ring on the wheel?
  6. The only thing that I can see that could be bent would be the entire swing arm. Either that or it has slid toward the middle of the car pulling the tire/wheel into it. I just did a rear spring swap, wonder if that did it. Never removed anything I didn't need to.....hmmmm, interesting.....
  7. It's easy to taper the holes a little. I don't think it would take much. The center of the wheel fits rather tight around the hubs/drums.
  8. I was wondering what I will break if I flip around the AA wheels on my rig. I just put some 235/75-15 wildcats on it but for some reason the left rear is rubbing on the bolt the swing arm pivots on. I flipped around that wheel so I could drive it home (didn't want to make a 2nd trip to Les Schwab's ) I was thinking that I could increase my wheel base and fix the whole rubbing problem by just flipping all 4 wheels around. any thoughts?
  9. Where was that vid. shot? Looks like a spot near me! I didn't think there were many members on my side of the mountains.
  10. Just had to show these to some folks who could appreciate them. This was the first chance I've had to take that thing out somewhere with someone who could pull me out if I got stuck! Had a :banana:BLAST! :banana:But now my steering is very stiff. Oh well, it's the price you pay I guess. ~Pyro
  11. My lifted (4/4) 86 gl wagon is bottoming out in the rear over every little bump. It is not hitting the bump stop, the springs are just fully compressing. I've found with some searching that 86-89 front honda accord springs will fit, but I wasn't sure what model, or if it even mattered. Just wanted to ask the question directly so I don't buy the wrong ones :-\ Thanks, Pyro
  12. I made a set out of some all thread, and a couple of hooks I bent and welded to some short pieces of 1/2" tubing which slid over the all thread. Good luck and be careful! *It might be quicker/easier to borrow a set from schucks*
  13. Yeah, I'm thinking of repainting it. I traded my old ford f250 for it a year ago.
  14. Well, here's my little beast. It has another set of tires on right now. (235/75/15 hancok snows) Nothing special under the hood. EA82, webber, the D/R 5 sp. i made into a 2wd hi/low, or 4wd hi/low. (more torque in 2wd without binding the rear) She has seen some hard times, but is under my loving care now. I was told this was the old allied armament demo rig. (http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/SubParts.html) I'd love to have any history on it if anyone one knows anything about it. It does have the AA wheels, front and rear bumper, skid plate, and spare rack.
  15. I am, but not for much longer. I have a 3 - 4 lift, or is it 4-3 i dont remember. When I bought the car it has 30x10.5 r15's on it and they rubbed pretty good. now with the 225 70 15's they dont rub, but they also have no tread. putting on some 235/75 15 hancock snow tires i got for a steal. Good luck! Pyro
  16. Do you know what jets you are using (if it is a weber)? My 86 gets *gulp* 15-17ish. Changed jets, changed choke to manual, still crap mileage.
  17. ea82 86 gl 4inch lift 28 inch tires, 5spd d/r I have a hard time starting out in 1st gear due to larger tires. I was wondering if anyone has ever installed a disconnect on the rear driveline and left the tranny in 4low for some extra umph......Would love to have the power to not kill it at each stop light on an incline. :-\ Thanks, Pyro
  18. I have sourced a 5spd for my 86 gl. (thanks again 82BratAvenger!!) Now I need to swap it out. I have the place and tools to do it, I want to know if there is anything I *NEED* to do while it is out. Is it easier to pull the engine and tranny? or just the tranny? Should I replace the clutch while it is out? What seals should I replace? Is there a "how to" thread on this? ( I searched but couldn't find one) I have never pulled an engine or transmission before, just trying to be prepared... Thanks for any and all help/ideas. Pyro
  19. Will a RX tranny bolt up to my ea82? And what would be a ball park price for the tranny and lsd? Thanks
  20. Ok, so my 3rd gear is and i'm gonna have to replace the tranny. (86 ea82, 5sp d/r) The problem I had before with it was there was no low end power. I know that is to be expected, but I'm wondering if there is a different ratio i can put in there to give some more torque. I have herd of the 3.9 lsd going into an ea82, but I don't know the details of which tranny will work with it. If i have to choose a lsd over a D/R i'll go with the D/R, just hoping there is a way i can have it both ways. So, i need info, and then the parts to do it! I'm in wenatchee, but i'm gonna make a trip to the coast (seattle) in the middle of april. If anyone has what I need and can make me a deal on it, i'd love to talk. Thanks Pyro
  21. On my way home from work this morning my car got stuck in 3rd gear. After pulling it quite hard OUT of 3rd, it no longer wants to go into 3rd. I can feel it go to the right position, but when i let the clutch out it just grinds and pops it back out. All other gears work fine and there are no nasty noises other that when I try to force 3rd to work....... Any ideas? Is there any way to check the condition of the tranny w/out pulling it? What am i looking at (time and money) to do a tranny swap? Ive never pulled one of these motors before so not sure what i might be getting myself into. Thanks, Pyro
  22. No doubt....any suggestions on where to find good/cheap struts. I'm also concerned that the struts I have are not the original ones. Any way to find out if they are the stock ones and/or what ones I need. Thanks
  23. I did fix the steering, had to machine a new bushing because the old one was in peices. Not super tight, but WAY better than it was. If you check the AA website they have a video of it jumping. I mean JUMPING. I'm not possitive it is the same car, but it looks like it and I know it is in some of their pics on the site. http://alliedarmament.homestead.com/SubParts.html Any way, I think I found the problem. Here is a pic of the driver's side strut: Here is one of the pass. side: Do you see any thing wrong with that? Still wondering why it sounds like it is bottoming out on the driver's side...
