  1. I am interested in the head bolts, do you have any more info about them?
  2. nice man, now do you have the photos of yours?
  3. does anyone have copies of these photos, as they are not showing up?
  4. Yeah, that'd be good, but I really want to see the above mentioned cut heads, and combine that information with mine....
  5. sweet, would you mind having a look, and putting them up here? Im sure they would prove useful, maybe someone could sticky them? - you can sticky mine too if you like.
  6. I just found thread that sounds very interesting, does anyone happen to have a copy of the pictures? http://subaruxt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=7121&p=66398&hilit=+xt6+porting#p66398
  7. After disecting the spare set of heads ( link ), I am about to embark on the porting adventure, just wondering if anyone would like to share their handiwork... Here is a link (the only one I could find) I found... Would probably be quite nice on a set that weren't cracked, certainly some good gains to be had in the exhaust 'bowl'
  8. Gday guys, just wondering in a US spec 1987-on XT, where abouts is the Temp sensor for the Digital Dash? I beleive it is somewhere in the inner guard, but as to which side, I have no idea? A photograph would be much much helpful Thanks in advance!
  9. ...does anyone know what profile the A-1-2 cams are? thanks.
  10. But wont the bridge cracks extend to port cracks? I mean, isn't that how they start? It's gotta be a heat issue, pehaps fitting an oil cooler would help, by cooling the head where the water doesn't get? Im puzzled as to why the triangle shaped water jacket at the top of the block, in between the bores is blocked off, I think I will drill a hole in the heads there and wad-punch a hole in the gasket, to promote a bit of extra coolant flow. Thoughts?
  11. I have heard that the cams in 4 plug N/A EA82 MPFI's had a longer duration and thus better than the 4 plug Turbo cams, does anyone have any documentation of that, and is there anyway to identify the cams when looked at. I got a set of NA cams yesterday, and they have different numbers to my Turbo cams, but my 2 sets of turbo cams are marked different as well.... Thanks.
  12. Just wondering if someone has some background experience with the EA82 2 port heads, and knows why they all seem to crack between the valves? Are they ALL overheated? Or do they suffer from the valve seats being too tight in the casting or something? I know there is not much meat between the 2 runners, but surely FHI engineers made them good enough.... Also, is it better to buy brand new (including 2nd hand good ones, if they can be found), or repaired, like, once the heads have cracked & relaxed, then repaired are they better? Thanks.
  13. Please Forgice me for all these queries, I need to know.... here's a scan from the XT Gen2 Manual: (1) It mentions a KPH/MPH button, and I have heard of a jumper that define the dash between the two, but what changes the Odometer, I assume they are mechanical? (2) Is there model (transmission) specific dash's, or are different indicators in there, just blanked off? (3) It says the turbo gauge varies with boost pressure, so do they use a different pressure sensor to the on/off light dashs? (4) Does any body have one that will operate with a 4EAT AWD Turbo?
  14. Hi guys, having a little trouble with the XT... Doesnt fast idle when its cold, fast idles (1300) when its hot(normal temp) Also, uses WAY TOO MUCH FUEL for an EA82T (22MPG on trip) Already checked for vacuum leaks So... I reckon it could be 1 of 2 things : IAC valve (not the black shutter one on the RX type EA82's) Coolant temp sensor What do you's reckon...had similar dramas? any help greatly appreciated
