  1. I have a plentiful supply of coils, wires, plugs ect. Going to try swapping different wires, this weekend. The fuel pump is a generic aftermarket listed for a direct replacement for a ford f-150 FI motor (30$ at rockauto) It has been working fine. I don't susspect it is a fuel issue, but I will find out this weekend. last nights commute was the worst. skipping/stumbling at highway speeds, and realy stumbling going up through the gears(like a bucking bronco). I'm back to driving my GL now until I get this issue w/ the loyale sorted out. May also try swapping some fuel filters first just to rule out the fuel issue.
  2. My fuel pump is a brand new one made for a ford truck, and the filter is a new one made for a mazda FI motor. The loyale has been running fine with these parts. The stumble has gotten progressively worse over the last few months. I had a simmilar problem w/ my brat and I swapped in a different coil and plug wires and that seemed to do the trick. I guess I will try that and see what happens. The motor runs great I just have these annoying dead spots/stumbling, It's getting to the point where I can't ignore it any longer. I almost wish it would completely die, so I could definitively know what the culprit is.
  3. My loyale stumbles at times especially under load. The clutch is only a few yrs old and the spark plugs and fuel pump have been relaced within the last 6 months. Its a non carburated ea82. Are my timming belts on the way out? It's not a huge issue, I just romp on the gas more and it smooths out. Any ideas?
  4. I removed this annoyance immediately. I can spill my coffee well enough on my own. I don't need help from belts automatically wrapping around my neck when I get in my Loyale in the morning. Reminds me of the opening scene in The Jetsons when George gets slapped in the face by his morning breakfast.
  5. Nice truck and bike. I use dryer sheets and mothballs to keep the critters out. I also screen off air inlet areas. Mice love crawling into warm inlets, the more you can block entrance the better. All of my vehicles that do not see regular use I throw a few dryer sheets in the interior, and leave small cup fulled with mothballs in the engine bay and trunk. While I love killing mice, traps usually attract them rather than repel them. Cats in the workshop also help.
  6. I have a set of subaru fog lights, want to sell your covers?
  7. That car would be considered near mint here in New England. Most of the gen 2 cars around here you can't even inspect the undercarriage because your jack will pop through the floor when trying to lift the car.
  8. No my loyale is not lifted, and the rims/tires are from a brat. I drive this loyale close to 100 miles per day. I've had many ea82 subarus they are good engines as long as you keep up the maintainence. My engine leaks oil a little also, but it helps the undercarraige fight the sand and salt. As long as you change your fluids and keep an eye on the levels your subaru should go for many miles.
  9. Diamond plate makes great rust repair panels. Good luck w/ your subaru.
  10. Here is a pic of my loyale, basically the same color/year as yours. Mine was in far worse shape than yours when I got it.....yours is worth fixing.
  11. Be careful some of those replacement thermostats are junk right out of the box from the local corner parts store. I had to try several ones in my loyale before I found one that worked.
  12. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=164642&start=12980 The car is somewhere in Arizona, happy hunting! Here is a link to the thread. You could probably email the guy who posted this on the samba to get an exact location of the car. (pg. 600) from the samba. PS the samba vw bus hunting thread was my inspiration for starting a subaru search and rescue thread on this web site. Keep searching...they are out there
  13. Hmmm...... looks like an vintage subaru wagon that needs rescuing, before it gets used for target practice like this poor old vw bus.
  14. Hmmmm...whats that behind the old vw microbus???
  15. Any info on the rear tent option? Was it made by Subaru or a Dealer option made by another manufactuer (wenzel, camel, eurika, ect.) Was it available only at certain dealers/markets? This is my "holy grail"..... any info on it would be great?

  18. What to do if you have a VW Bug frame and a Subaru 360 body.
  19. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=137391 The 1988 gl I just recently got has a factory installed cruise control. The buttons are mounted on the steering wheel (look at the Pics). I'll try to take some more detailed pics of the wiring set up this weekend.
