  1. I'm also wondering if this would work on a new soob GLs are extinct in this part of the country (MI) I have the only GL 3 door I've ever seen in person, wich has this lift, but is getting rusty. I just picked up a 98 Outback sport, and did the Legacy OB lift, But would do more if anyone knows about wear and tear.
  2. Muskegon here, i thought i was the only one. We should all get together for a trip to the silver lake sand dunes this summer.
  3. problem solved! It did jump time, so i guess I'll have to do timing belts.
  4. MAF for the win... I'll make sure to take a spare one with me. Just so I won't have to clean the other one.
  5. Alright folks, here it is I just picked up a 1988 xt awd auto from my friend mike. I think he was posting on here as subiext or something. Here's a pic. Anyway, here's the story. Mike ran the hell out of this car, mostly on dirt roads and two-tracks. He hit a big puddle, and it started running rough (sounds like a wet disty to me). then the car clears up and runs fine until he gets home. It starts running like crap again. He does a complete tune up on it; plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and even swapped the fuel pump just in case. He couldn't come up with anything and got sick of it. :-\ I picked it up and put a battery back in it. It won't start. It pops a little bit and almost wants to start, but not quite. I'm planing on spending all of tomorrow on it. I'm going to start by adding some gas (worth a shot, the gauge says empty, but no orange rectangle yet). Then I'm going to start checking vacuum lines. I'd like some more input for tomorrow, so if i verify that these aren't the problem, I'll have more things to try. edit, i have checked timing belts, and they are intact. I guess it's possible they may have slipped? But I'm not sure how likely it is.
  6. hey all, I'm looking into picking up a `78 wagon that is for sale locally. I havn't looked the car over personally, but do plan on doing so. I'm wondering if you folks could inform me more on this model. How close is this vehicle to my ea82 cars? What series is this vehicle, ea81 or somthing different I'm a hardcore loyal guy, and they're all i know. What are common rust area's i should look at on this model? and what are the draw backs compared to my ea82?
  7. beautiful car my friend. don't try to tell us those marks on the street were not from you lol
  8. im looking for info on a automatic trans swap for my 93 loyal sedan. it is a 1.8 stock fuel injected hot rod. It has the stock 3 speed auto fwd, and it works great, but with the highway driving i do, it would be nice to have a 4 speed I have a good 4 speed auto from an 85 xt. I also have the xt's axels. I want to put the 4 speed trans into my loyal, and I need to know if it will work. I know it will bolt up, but im worried about the electrical and about needing a different computer. any good advice would be great. I Plan on swapping for a 5 speed stick some were down the road, but it won't be for a while because im still looking for the trans and an xt6 clutch.
  9. nope, the xt's have the 25. I went through the trouble of pulling them, and even had the loyale on the hoist and almost finished when i found the difference.
  10. will axles from a 85 xt fwd 4 speed auto fit into my 92 loyale fwd 3 speed auto? I have yet to pull the axles from the xt, and i would like to find out before i go through the trouble.
  11. Hey all, I thought i would introduce myself. My name is James. I am the parts guy at a local body shop. I've been into subarus for about 2 years now. I never had a "real" 4x4, because my first subaru made me belive that nothing is better off road than a subaru. I started out with buying a second hand hack job 92 loyale that a friend bought from an elderly couple. It started as a fwd auto, and then he switched it to a 4wd. he then sold it to another friend of mine, who converted it to a dual range 5 speed, and a posi 3.9 rear. That's when i got it. I beat the living snot out of it. Now it's a work in progress with a ea82T, rx struts, and 31 inch tires. It's waiting for a custom front lift before its back in action. I also have a 87 gl 3 door, wich is in good shape, It was a dd for a while, but it jumped time while offroading at the silver lake sand dunes in silver lake Mi. this one's on hold for now untill my loyale sedan is finished up thanks guys, i look forward to learning and reading all the usefull info at this place
