Well while hunting for a heater core for under $250. I realized that the tie rod ends on my 1998 Legacy L wagon, EJ22, A/T, 133k are shot. When the car is not running and I turn the wheel in either direction I get a creaking sound from the front end. The Beck-Arnley replacments are $55 a peice and do not have Zerk fittings!!! Anyone know a better option?? Joel

Went to the rad shop they said he would bench test it for me but not fix my leaking one. Said the new ones are two thin with to much plastic. He would not touch a repair on a new core. You think I should spend $40 at the stealership to get the system presure test to seee where the leak is coming from??? Joel

Wow, replacing it again does not sould like ANY fun. The '98 Legacy L wagon was my grandfathers last car, he gave it to me and my Mom. She drove it up to 140k she replaced all the belts and the oil pump. I want to take it the distance because I just moved to New Hampshire and I know the winters are snowy up here and I could use it's AWD. How do you fell about repairing it?? There is a local shop that specialies in reparing rad.s and cores. They said they could do if for far less than the $250 for the SOA part??

How is the driveline diff. in my Mom's new "03 GT Limited Sedan in automatic, and the drive line in my '98 L wagon EJ22, auto also?? I know her new Roo has a 55% power bias to the rear and it has a limited slip in the back. Is the center diff. in the tail cone of the AT like mine or is it seperate or is it in the gear lube in front diff??

Our '98 Legacy L wagon with the 2.2 and auto and 133k on the clock has a very strong sweet smell of coolant coming from the vents inside the car also when the heat is on. But the heater core is not leaking inside the car yet and I can't see any steam coming from the vents, no smell outside the car. Did you do the repair on your Roo?? Joel

I started hearing the warning buzzer going on my Mom's '98 Legacy L wagon with 120k on it a few days ago. about 10,000 miles ago I replaced the pads with semi-metalics and went with Brembo rotors. It was sound was only coming from the drivers side and there was allot more brake dust on the wheel cover on that side?? When I pulled the wheel I saw there was nothing left on inboard and out board driverside pads. but the pass. side pads were only about half way worn down??? when I did the braked 10,000 miles ago I flushed and blead teh brakes according to Endwench mag. and the sides and calipers both move freely. Is the drivers side brake hose collapsing???
