What is the current consensus on using aerosol Throttle Body Cleaner on Soobs? I know I asked this question on ultimatesubaru.org like two years ago and the over whelming answer was NO!! That Subaru had some sort of special coating on the throat of the TB. And you would remove it if you used TB cleaner on it? My ’98 Legacy L wagon with EJ22, AT and 140k on the clock is idling rough now. I have replaced everything I can think of. New fuel filter, PCV valve, NGK plugs (gapped correctly), Brand new 640 CCA battery, in tank high end fuel injection cleaner, plug wires are in good shape. The only thing I can think of is a dirty TB. And now when it is cold it does that slightly surging thing, which the usually shake in gear at a stop sign??

I would love to see the Kenedy Engineering kit for that rig!! A easy to come by and cheap Mitsu rig with Toyota bullet proof and easy to find driveline!!

Well I got a used heater core that looks to be in great shape (Thanks Shane!) for my ’98 Legacy L wagon EJ22, AT, with 139k on the clock. I used the SOA coolant additive and it helped a little with the strong coolant smell in the cabin when the heat is on but I can still smell it. I am looking at the replacement core and it seems to have the remains of foam padding on two sides of the core. How can I replace this so it does not rattle when I replace the stock leaking core with this one?

Would the fact that it resets everytime I shut the car off and turn it back on then only come on if I go over 65 MPH for more than 5 min. point to a speed sensor? Anyone else come across this? I know it did this one other time a LONG time ago when we had like foot of snow and I was driving through it!

I have a '98 Legacy L Wagon with EJ22 and AT. For the last month or so when I get on the highway and go above 65 MPH. The ABS on the dash comes on a stays on for the rest of the ride. Then when I shut it off and re-start it it goes off and stays off untill a couple weeks later where it will do it again. It does not do it every time I go over 65 but maybe once ever four times I do?? The rear pads were replaced about two days agao but it was doing it previous to this. I have bleed and replaced teh brake fluid the way End Wrench mag. stated about 8,000 miles ago and there were no problems right after that?

Hi, group my family has had MANY Roos. I still have my Grandfathers '98 Legacy L Wagon EJ22, AT with 137,750 miles on it. My girlfriends '97 Saturn SC1 is about to give up with 122k on the clock. We went to Subaru of Nashua, NH and took a look at a '00 Forester LIMITED in five-speed with 116k on the clock. It drove nice. Belts had been done, no wrecks, only a drone from the rear that the stealership said they would look into. They want $8,900 for it I offered $6,500. It books for $11,500 on Kelly? It is a strange car, it has the elec. compass, barameter, temp on the dash, ALL FOUR (FRONT AND BACK) DUEL STAGE HEATED LEATHER SEATS. Bumper gaurd, running boards, fog lamps with grilles, alluminum rims. Should she go for it? Any members have this vintage Forester with the Phase II EJ25 with more miles than this? Does this year Forester suffer from the wheel bearing problems of it's Impreza platform kin?? PS. Did this year Forester have afactory moonroof option, this one does not have one? What kind of MPG should we exspect from this Forester?

The guy at the parts dept. at the stealership said he thought the lens on the fogs were glass?? Thanks for the source lead on Rockblocker. Rockblockeris that clear, sticker type stuff, do you have it as paint protection also??? Joel
