The Yellow ALL Coolant/ All Makes stuff is the ONLY thing you can buy at Wal-Mart anymore Prestone does not even sell teh green stuff anymore just the all purpose yellow!

Anyone put Hankooks on there Roos'in 205/55R16?? They have some all-season offerings in the touring line for $55 a pop! But tread does not look good in snow!

OK, I only had three hours so I changed the coolant in her '03 GT with that universal yellow stuff they are selling now mixed with distilled water. When I opeaned the cap there was this redish stuff all over the cap, the bottom of the overflow tank. Whe I flushed the rad with watter this stuff came out as well. I wonder if it was SOA factory isnstalled "magic treatment for phase I EJ25's"? Anyway I put Prestone water pump lube and cooling system treatment. Buddythe dog thanks for "Just make sure that your/her car uses plat. plugs or non plat. or regular old plugs. My former 97 Outback was platinum only.!" She had WORN "Crap"ion spark plugs in it stock. I swaped them out for with the regular Denso's. My Mom says she thinks it feels peppier! Why would they put these junk plugs in a Subaru, at 30k there gap was DOUBLE what it was suppose to be! If it's this hard on plugs CAN I go to the plat.plugs in the EJ253? I also replace the fuel filter with the Purolator. and changed the oil and filter. That was all the time I had so next time I am down it's ATF drain and refill, front and rear diffs, and brake fluid flush bleed.

I am sure you CAN install a hitch if you have mech. knowledge. My question is does SOA have a hitch for the Tribeca? What class is it? Class I, II, III? and is a Tribeca PRE wired for a hitch? What do you want to tow or tote with the hitch?

It's not THAT bad! I have a print out of 10 pages that details the removal of the dash to get to it. E-mail me and I can mail it to you.

Tirerack does not have them but has anyone put Toyo Proxe 4's on there Roo? How is the light snow traction?

How many miles sare on the car? How long since last fuel filter change they are REAL easy to replace in Roo's. A Screw driver is ALL you need! Do it just because it might be the problem, I do! Have you ran it out or low on gas lately, could have burned up the fuel pump!

Unless the rotors are warped DO NOT TURN THEM!! Modern rotors have so little "meat" to them that turning just once sualy takes them to min. thinkness. I just rough-up with corse sand paper to take the glaze off them and pad slap'em! Worked for 300k on a Toyota Corolla Wagon!!

they look REAL nice for my SAAB 9000 here in New Hampshire. But my Mom does not go out in deep snow and she has AWD in Southern New York, so she only needs a All-season with average snow traction. She got along fine with the Bridgestone Potenzas RE92A's and they are rated BAD in snow traction on Tire Rack.

Yes the '98 Legacy L had the LAST Gen. EJ22 the best they ever made should go to 300k and beyond! I just sold my '98 Legacy L with 150k for $3,300 in New Hampshire! In New England these old Suabru L are worth there weight in gold!

The later model EJ22 was the best motor Subaru made like '97-'98 EJ22's The clutchs have problems on the manuals in the late 90's. The 4EAT auto is pretty good if the ATF was changed every 30k. Roos are GREAT for Canada winters!!

Howards11, The do not sell the Discverer II in a 205/55R16 size? Also a Light Truck tire would be ill suited for a sports sedan! The Yoko Avid TRZ and the Fuzion tire brand by Bridgstone on tirerack seems like a nice tire but I can't find dealers in my Mom's area of New York?

The Bridestone Potenza RE92 taht came on my Mom's '03 Legacy GT Sedan are JUNK! They at AT the wear bars at 29k, they have been rotated every 7,000 miles keep at correct pressure and my MOM DROVE IT!! They have also developed dry crack inbetween the tread and on the outer egdes of the side wall! Does any one have any experence puting the Hankook or Kumho tires that tirerack.com loves so much on a Legacy GT sedan? How are they holding-up. I just want a quiet, soft riding, long wearing tire for my Mom's car.

I would say in Texas, with gas prices the way they are WHY would you buy a Subaru?? Get a RWD or FWD car and enjoy and gas savings? You don't need to waste gas on AWD gear in Texas!

My Mom just called me from a parking lot. She can't opean the trunk on her '03 GT sedan with the lever next to the drivers door or the key in the lock in the trunk? She said the key will turn to the left but not to the right. The lever lifts but will not release the trunk. It does not bunde if she lifts on the trunk and turns the key. She has the original key to the car not the Valet Key. She did try the Valet key and it would not turn in the lock in the trunk! I think there is a small switch on the latching mechanism to lock out the use of the pop inside the car. But the key should still work to opean it even if this is triped by accident.

Anybody put Plat. or Ird. in there SOHC EJ253 yet??

I would feel better installing one. Subaru put a spin on filter on the NEWWER 4EAT's from teh factory!! Must be something good to have them!

I usually use NGK or Denso copper plugs for my vehilces. But, my Mom now lives 3 hours away and when I do the job at 30k I don't know if I will be able to hit the next change at 60k. Should I put NGK or Denso Platniums in it?

I remember AWHILE back people on the board were saying don't clean teh TB with TB cleaner casue it will take the coating off. I asked about two years latter and the board acted like they have never said that, OH well. I have used Seafoam LIQUID in teh bottle sucked into inatke via vacuum. AND spray "Deep Creep" Seafoam on the Trodle plate in the TB on my '98 Legacy L wagon with 150k with NO problem, only a smoother idle as a result!!

Well the car is still under warrenty, the sounds does seem to come from the TOP of the motor not under neath near the RACK!! So have any of you heard of P/S pumps going bad on '03 Legacy GT's. DOES THIS CAR HAVE SPEED SENSITIVE STEERING??

Better to Bump than start a new thread on the same topic, means people are using the search feature. Now, am I correct that the '03 Legacy GT should have speed sensative steering?

My Mom's new '03 Legacy GT Sedan, with AT, and 24k makes a whiling noise at idle from the power steering pump? The fluid level as seen through the clear resivoir is good. If you are in N or Park, not moving or touching teh steering wheel it makes the whirling sound. If you turn the wheel or put it in gear it stops??
