  1. I would get it the Baja is more reliable better on gas, and can haul anything you would carry 99.9% of the time. If not the Baja and you DO need seating for 5 get the Honda Ridgeline same +'s of the Baja just in a larger package.
  2. Ya, find a good independant Subaru mechanic in No Cal to fix it RIGHT. could have been a $3 thermostat and the dealer took you for $700!!
  3. Is it CHEAPER to buy the recall kit for the earlier 4EAT's and use THAT filter on the newer 4EAT's with filters? Also I had heard that someone on the board forund another aftermarket supplier of the spin-on tranny filter and it was like $5!!! (Please speak-up with your results so far!)
  4. Happened to my Mom again this morning then went out. Brake warning light on, e-brake would not shut it off. This time the brake fluid level was a little lower so I am having her bring it to Prestige Imports Subaru In Plesantville, NY. It is closer to her work and I feel safer if she drives it the least posible miles before this situation is solved. She parks on a gravel driveway so seeing a brake fluid leak is imposible. I think some thing might have nicked a brake line!!
  5. Put Planuim NGK or Denso in there. Then you will not have to do it for another 60k+.
  6. OK, so it could be a charging system problem or maybe she left a light on and it drained the battery??
  7. Same thing happened to my Mom's '03 GT Legacy sedan when heading too work today. She called me from down the road. She said the red BRAKE idiot light came on. She tried releasing the e-brake a few times with no change. I had her check the brake res. and the fluid level was fine. When she shut off and re started the car the brake idiot light went out and stayed out?? Only thing I can think of is stuck fluid level sensor in brake res.?
  8. OK, so it does un screw, it tried turning it an the cap just spun around and did not seem to come loose?? It is hard to get too under the air intake on a '03 GT!
  9. The Potenza's on my Mom's '03 Gt sedan are 205/55R16 wore out in 30k!! HOW did you get 70k out of them!!
  10. Thanks kevinsUBARU! Anyone have a pic of this part on there Roo? Pics I have seen online for this part show it on a L model with NO side skirts will it fit???
  11. Group, is there a OEM or aftermarket mudflaps that would fit my Mom's '03 Legacy GT Sedan? I was thinking the side skirts cover all exsposed sheet metal so dings from kick-up are minimal, but I thought I would ask.
  12. EJ22 are know to have valve noise problems. Our '98 EJ22 (last generation of the EJ22 and year in a Legacy) did this from 75k onto 152k. Never had any issues. You can get rid of it with a valve adjustment but I never did it.
  13. Looked the same on my '97 EJ22 with 4EAT? I used teh small vac hose in the middle of the TB and the seafoam sucked right in just fater idle! Worked good but I recomend the FULL dose or the effect is short lived. My CEL also came on but I had Autozone shut it off for FREE!
  14. We should all watch this very closly and ask the people that come forward to contact NHTSA. I will warn my Mom to be carefull not to leave hers on in her '03 Legacy GT sedan.
  15. OK, in my Mom's '03 GT Legacy sedan the intake for the engine is RIGHT over the cap for the P/S tank! I guess I have to remove the intake. Also how do I get the cap off? Does it pull stright-up or spin off? With the 30k service I like to suck out the old ATF and put new Dextron III in. Is there a filter on this system? Should the PCV valve be replaced at 30k as well on the EJ253??
  16. There is a TURBO option as well! The Outback comes in Turbo four cyl. which is another option. If you don't drive real fast the 2.5 Liter four should be fine.
  17. Longest wearing all seasons I have had on a '98 Legacy L wagon was a set of Mich. Radial X touring tires from Sam's Club tire centers. They were not great in the snow though.
  18. Sounds like we are looking for the same thing? What size do you need for your Roo?
  19. You did not post what year and model Roo you had. The recall on the alternator was replace BEFORE you have a problem!! So, that stuff you installed but more STRAIN on a faulty alternator. Gte it replaced for free either way!
  20. God I hope so, that would be great GM wrecks everything they get there hands on look at the new SAAB SUV a.k.a another Chevy Blazer variant!!
  21. Ok, part of the 30k service I will be performing on my Mom's '03 Legacy GT sedan with AT is a diff. and traany drain and refill. What is the capacity of Mobil 1 for the front AND rear diffs (I know the rear diff of the GT is Limited Slip) does that make a differince :-\ ? When I drain and refill the 4EAT with the "sport shift option" how much Dextron III will I need to refill the tranny? BRAKE bleed, will this '03 GT have the same X pattern to flush and bleed the ABS system as my '98 Legacy L wagon? I have the procedure for bleeding the ABS detailed in an old Endwrench mag.
