Stealership useless as usual! Told the service dept about the '03 GT and the slight P/S whine it has. They said No TSB and wanted to LOOK at it at $120 a hour!! (NO THANKS!!) Is the Lucas P/S fluid stuff ATF compatable?? Is this the stuff for regular P/S fluid? http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=28&catid=2&loc=show Or should we use this stuff for our Dextron III ATF based systems?? http://www.lucasoil.com/products/display_products.sd?iid=29&catid=2&loc=show

I give the finger to anyone I see in a Hummer or 4 X 4 truck if it does not have mud on it. I always will, in France they slash the tires of SUV's in any urban area. -
That Roo is to young to die!! I have keep many Subaru's in NEW ENGLAND rust FREE with three things! Wash under body AND WHEEL WELLS during the winter EVERY TIME IT GETS ABOVE 32 DEGREES!!! Touch-up and nicks and scratches as soon as they apear! GET SOME RUSTCHECK AND COAT & PROTECT FROM OUR CANADIAN FREINDS AND coat the under body GOOD!!! Pull the body plugs and get inside the subframe memebers and voids!!

Forester are great cute utes they are based off the Impreza platform and handle VERY WELL for a small SUV! They have the 2.5 engine and the same trannies as the Legacy and Impreza. You will want to find as new as you can to avoid the phase I EJ25. I have seen less issues with torque bind in there 4EAT's and Less clutch issues in there 5-speeds. BUt, that could be just who posts here. Someone here should be able to tell you the last year for the Forester with the phase I EJ25.

I use to work for Enterprise Rent-A-Car so I know. DO NOT BUY A USED RENTAL VEHICLE. Body work is done AS CHEAP and QUICKLY as posible. They run 7,300 mile oil change intervals. In Montana most likly that ATF leak is from OFF-ROADING and hiting hard objects! !! With the Montana climate you could find a older Roo with no signs of rust that would serve you for MANY years!!

They are nice cars for AWD at a fair price. That is why my family has had them since the 70's. However, we always skied, and lived on non-plowed road in New York and had family in the moutains of Vermont. But there are A LOT of nice cars on the market now. And if you don't need the added tractionh of AWD you most likey don't want it's gas mialage reduction in a daily driver. Just my 2 cents, from MANY Roos.

My Mom's '03 GT sedan is starting to do a intermitant bump at highway speed when gas is applied very softly. Seems to happen if you are coasting at say 65 mph and then very softly aplly more pressure to the gas petal with teh car in Drive. The tranny will kind of hick-up as it comes under load?? Only does it once in awhile:confused: Any one else experince this in a GT with the 4EAT with the autostick option?? :-\
