  1. Dave I have a '99 Accord and a Civic the older Honda cars take stright oil in "5-speed manual transmisions not the automatics! There is speacial Honda ATF for the automatics but it is FAR from motor oil!!
  2. I have heard the external screw on filters are reall $$ like $30!! Cheaper to get the external filter KIT for $19!
  3. Just got a set of WRG2's for my Mom's '03GT sedan $153 a peice. But hope they are worth the money!
  4. Thanks porcupine! So it is a '96 through '99 5-speed, Legacy 2.5GT sedan. So it has the HG internal leak prone phase I EJ25, correct.
  5. I have been driving by a 5-speed, Subaru Legacy 2.5GT for sale it has the same body style as my old '98 Legacy L wagon. What year range is this body style. '96 to '00 correct?
  6. My mother's '03 Subau Legacy GT Sedan had a external HG leak on the drivers side cyl. bank. She had 61k on the car but the stealership did make good and JUST replaced the drivers side gasket.
  7. I lived in Indiana for fours years while attending Purdue, then another two while working the family farm in Wolcott. I will have to say the snow I get here in Northern New England is much differant than what I had to deal with in Indiana. We had 22 inches of snow on the ground a few days ago!! I have had a set of cheap Mastercraft all-seasons on a Honda Civic that were GREAT in the snow. They don't make them in 205/55R16 unfortunaly.
  8. Looking for the first tire the Dunlop SP60 for the STREET, use on a daily driver I take on skiing trips up to the mountains in winter storms.
  9. When I did a search for the Dulop SP60's only thread came up was in the off road board. I wanted to see if anyone was running these tires in a daily driver. They are S speed rated (112 MPH)and the GT Subaru for some stupid reason needs an H (130 MPH) speed rated tire. Yep, my 65 year old mother always breaking the ton and quarter for hours!!
  10. We had a set of BFG Traction T/A's and they SUCKED. Wore out fast, noisy, bad in snow, ice, slush and handled poorly. I want a all-season that will put up with our steep driveway in New York un-plowed with less than six inches. And help power through the trip to New Hampshire and Vermont mountains in snow storms. The tread on these caught my eye as a cheaper option than the Nokian WR's that are like $175 a peice around me! I can get these for $60 a peice!!
  11. Anyone have the SP60's on a dily driver how are they in the snow???
  12. The rubber mats from Wal Mart are very cheap and can be trimmed easy!!
  13. Does it look like the rear diff. is wet like it leaked the gear oil out of it?
  14. Will stock 16" wheels off a Subaru Forester or WRX fit my Mother's '03 Legacy GT sedan?
  15. So you guys with the WR's are geting some good miage out of them correct? They are too much $$$ to wear out prematurely.
  16. OK, cool just checking? I guess the onlt issue with the WR's is the price tag. Anyone have them on there Soob? What kind miles you geting out of these $150+ a PEICE tires??
  17. Well you air cooled guys have it right, bugs were awsome in the snow. And the Kubel's and Schwimmerwagen's were the first 4wd cars!! I had a '87 Syncro Vanagon with rear air LOCKER from the factory it would climb up a house!! Sorry (wasserboxer)!
  18. So I guess the board is not as hot on the WR's any longer the reported TRUE ALL-season tire? I tried a all-season rated well in loose stuff, the BFG Traction T/A and they wore out in 10,000 miles!!
