Narrowest and tallest tires fit on '03 GT Sedan wheels?
shortlid replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXShe does NOT want to swap back and forth between snows and all-seasons, I have tried. She does not like the noise and no one is around to load and un-load them from the car. I had a set of 205/55R16 Nokia's for it and she did not like the road noise. Suspension mods are not in the cards, just looking for a cheap fix.

shortlid replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhat do the modded VW's always have the tires too small for the rims? Is there a plus to doing this. Must be hard to keep the wheel lips from geting banged up!!!

Narrowest and tallest tires fit on '03 GT Sedan wheels?
shortlid replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't see how weight affects width?? I had a 3 ton truck that had 185/75R15's they were three ply side wall but that was the size. More on tire construction not size. Does anyone know how wide the stock rims are on the '03 GT's.

Narrowest and tallest tires fit on '03 GT Sedan wheels?
My Mother does not drive her '03 GT legacy sedan very hard at ALL. She does however get it hung-up in snow and high lips on our rural road. What is the thinest/narrowest tires I can put on stock '03 GT wheels? Would 195/60R16's work in place of the 205/55R16's??

Snow tire Width reduction? For a GT, 205/55/16.
shortlid replied to SubeeTed's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy Mom has the BFG T/A's in the 205/55R16 size. I think the 185/65R15's on stock Legacy L wheels sound like the best bet, AND they keep you alloys nice! Or you could get a set of thouse new Nokian WR's that are suppose to be YEAR ROUND tires. But I heard they are $$$!!

99 Subaru Legacy tire ware
shortlid replied to raybo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWell my Mom just got back from Mavis Tire in Carmel, NY and they "re-checked" THIER alignment 20,000 miles ago and said the alignment is 20 degrees off and that is why ALL FOUR INNER TREADS WORE OUT!! Charged her $75 for a new alignment, and sent her on her way! I am guessing they will NOT stand behind the tires now!!

shortlid replied to raybo's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXMy mothers '03 Legacy GT sedan with 55k and about 10k on the BFG Traction T/A's and four wheel alignment is wearing out the inside of all four tires evenly?? Is this common on the roos that have T/A's on them??

shortlid replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSweet info thanks fellow Granite stater. Now I REALLY want a Turbo 2.5, how long have you been running it at that boost level? I am guessing you can't go to regular gas even in a emergency once the car it mapped up. Is yours a manual or auto?

shortlid replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXSorry did not know the Sti WRXs and new WRX are running around with the same motor. Was looking more for the Legacy GT platforms. But I guess all the STI WRX goodies should bolt on.

I just took a look at the Subaru web site. Can you get a regular Legacy wagon any longer or just the Outback with the lifted suspension??:-\ I wanted a Subaru with the new turbo 2.5, 5-speed manual, and a wagon in a lower Legacy suspension? No Legacy GT wagons anymore??

Another Victim of Head Gasket Failure!!!
shortlid replied to Green Beast's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVX'03 don't have HG issues. I beg to differ. Anybody catch the news? I made the news!!
shortlid replied to xoomer's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI did the same thing with a small tree in a 1993 Toyota Corrola. Bent all four rims, poped one tire other three had bubbles in the sidewalls. Got four rims from junk yard new tires under road hazard warrenty:banana: and alignment and it was never better. Till 40k down the road the rear struts froze down!

'03 Legacy GT sedan using coolant??
shortlid replied to shortlid's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWell they did the job under warrenty for JUST the drivers side cyl. bank. Seems to be running well and does not leak coolant any more. They added the cooling system conditioner? I thought a '03 EJ25 would be out of the recall calling for the conditioner?:-\
