  1. I think this should be a sticky!!!! Subaru just beat out Toyota and Honda for "2004" MOST RELIABLE BRAND!! I guess we here in the snow belt deserve a good car for the roads, salt, slippery conditions we put them through!!
  2. The link will not work, for me??? Thanks for the help, tightening the adjustable band should get teh slight slip out right?
  3. I recently changed teh ATF in my '90 Legacy L wagon with EJ22 and 142k on the clock. But it is still shifting slow and feels like it is starting to slip on take-off. Can I adjust the bands in the 4EAT?
  4. Just a question why do you need a AWD vehicle in Florida? Does she off-road, drive on the beach, etc?? I would go with nice Import wagon or sedan Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, Nissian Altima better MPG and less weight.
  5. Just sucked a 1/4 can of Seafoam upper engine cleaner through one of the vacuum lines on the top of the TB on my '98 Legacy L ,EJ22, 4EAT, and 142k on the clock. It was idling rough and hunting for idle before and had NEVER been cleaned . WOW what a diff. it idles better than new now!! did not change teh oil seemed not to affect it?
  6. AWD is still slow and hiting hard? I have a ABS fault when I drive over 65 MPH for any length of time my ABS light comes on. then If i resart teh car it comes on until I drive a bit and use teh brakes then it goes out till I hit over 65 again. I think it is a bad speed sensor. Could that have anything to do with my AWD being VERY slow to react to front wheel slipage??
  7. Really, it got your oil dirty just after you did this? I have this vacuum line I will just pull it off and put it into the can of Seafoam.
  8. Well, I guess by lack of replies that means people are using spray TB cleaner on there Soob's now?? I got the Seafoam 99obw, which vacuum line did you use? The high one off the EGR valve or the lowwer one off some sort of switch??
  9. Just drained and refilled with 3 1/2 qts of Aamco Semi-syn. =Mercron V ATF. Shifting allot better now, just have to wait for more snow to see if AWD is improved reaction time!!
  10. Put a dirty old jacket on and reached it no problem thanks guys!! Only 3 1/2 qts came out after 1 hour drain time?
  11. I know a couple of people with the old three speed automatic tranny's in the early 90's Subarus' have tried this Lucas AT stuff with good luck. Wanted to know if anyone has tried this stuff in a high mile 4EAT in a LATE 90's Roo?
  12. Anyone know of a supplier of SS exhaust for the Legacy? I do have a friend with a welder so I could fab SS pipe together?
  13. I usualy wear a suit to work that is maybe why I did not try to reach for the drain plug I will try again, thanks for the vote of confidence guys!!
  14. He is speaking of the stuff you add to Automatic Transmission Fluid. Not the Lucas additive for gear oil.
  15. Diff. suspension on Outbacks makes your ground clearance higher than my L. I am 6' and 216 lbs so my small gut might make it hard to get under it. I cold try teh peice of lumber trick!!
  16. How long does teh group think the stock coated exhaust system on a '98 Legacy L wagon driven in New England would be? It has the Cali. emisions so two cats. It is geting pretty rusty at the connections but no holes YET!! For how many of these things are used in the rust belt you woul think SOA would start puting SS exhausts on them!!
  17. I don't have a lift and I can't store ramps in my apartment. I can use the loading ramp and warehouse at my company at night so I can stay warm and dry. I need to do AT drin and fill on my '98 Legacy L wagon with 4EAT. Has anyone of decent size been able to squease under a L and get to the drian plug??
  18. Hey I am thinking about puting this stuff in my '98 legacy L wagon with a 4EAT and 142k on the clock. AT is ************ing weird, did this stuff lowwer MPG or anything?
