  1. I looked online and the tank is around $360 or so which is not bad.. I thought you meant more like $500 + having said that no my wheelwells are not rusted out
  2. friken database errors.. anyways I doubt its that bad like you said.. besides I can always look in the tank.. and why not just buy a new tank?
  3. so are you hinting at it's pointless to put a full tank in? maybe I should keep pumping till it comes up to the tank filler I bet I'd sure find out soon
  4. funny mu 95 never had any problems with that but I don't think that plastic part was on it.. I can't remember.
  5. I'm sure a part like this the dealer has to order i'm not sure if it's worth me trying (they do list price) or order online
  6. haha about that lock timer haha for this year it's right behind the panel under the steering wheel. So about this part is gas coming out or it's just the fumes? I'm not sure if I will get to it before my trip.
  7. So it's just held in by the rubber hose? So hmm the whole tube that enters in the tank is the same tube that does up to the filler?
  8. some parts I will mess with ebay with but not this.. I was just not sure how it connected to the tank.. I've seen inside my 95 wagon this car does have more room to get to it but since I've never had reason until now to remove it what is it held in place with to the fuel tank? To the filler neck it seems to be a rubber hose then it goes to the filler neck? And sorry about not showing the years.. almost all the other Subaru sites allow you to put your year in the profile so it shows under your user name.. It would be a welcome addition here because that's not always the first thing on my mind.. nevertheless the car is a 97 outback wagon I'd have to check the build date since looking up the part I'm seeing at least 3 part numbers for the build dates.
  9. well I knew it had tranny problems when I got it I'm just waiting for the replacement one before I take this one out and open it up. car right now has no 5th gear.
  10. yeah when I looked at it when cutting the bolts for my hitch I saw it in the same place where you are talking about (did not get pictures) is it replaceable? *edit looks like it is but wow almost $100 (online) for a fuel pipe :-/ so how much of a pain is it going to be to replace it?
  11. I'm trying to narrow this down but this is the 2nd time I've smelled it but inside the car I can smell a strong fuel smell (might be that the window is open) That areas or things should I check? off the top of my head I can think of the gasket for the tank and the evap canister?
  12. did just a little bit of stuff today not much.. changed the fluid in the rear diff and cleaned it as best as I could (how did it get caked?) I was debating about doing it but I drained fluid out of a bad tranny and put new in ya know gear oil is not cheap :-/ I knew it was not going to be pretty.. but in 2 weeks I should have a replacement. Sanded and painted my belt cover flat black and it came out pretty good. sanded wiper arms so they look better now.
  13. The bolt heads sorry good thing I guessed right. Thanks
  14. They are 12mm right? I can't remember for sure or not.
  15. time for her first oil change and replacing the coolant.. which I think one bottle is enough right? I don't remember off hand but it uses what was it 6.3 or 6.8 qt which I think is a tad more then 1 gal?
  16. I've been to that dealer too wonderful customer service.. it's 40 miles out of the way for me but sometimes it's worth it (I pass 2 other dealers just to get to this one)
  17. I have the same bosal CC and I had the same problem with the donut gasket it was a tad too small for the bosal.. but I never got to put the cat on because I crashed the car so it's still sitting in my living room in the box.
  18. Changed pcv changed plugs, switched the wires around. replacing plug wires this weekend
  19. Well if it will make you feel any better Ii will pull all the plugs and check the gap
  20. Haha yea the user name is a good way to remember lol.. But I will do the wires this weekend
  21. I'm confused but platinum plugs are not meant to be gaped and they are gaped from the factory. I'm going to replace the wires this weekend.
