  1. Actually, I washed the whole car. But this is an ongoing process for my sister, who doesnt like how Subarus look Anyway, before and after pics of the wheels. Im going to be spray painting the chrome black, she doesnt like the black/chrome look. Anyone had luck just spraying over chrome or should I prep it? Before (notice the brown spots near the inside of the rim, its like rust or brake dust thats corroded the chrome. After PS Castile Soap + Steel Wool or Kerosene + Steel Wool yields excellent results!
  2. I almost uploaded pics of my engine bay because of your username, but I realized you were after an EA81 not an 86 EA82 :/ best of luck, hopefully someone can get your pics up.
  3. I cleaned the Cal Masters on my car in hopes to get them sold soon Also, been looking on other forums since I found out my youtube video of my exhaust was "as seen on...." and checked out the forum it was posted on, turns out, the poster of that thread found my car elsewhere. Guess Ned is one popular little rig!
  4. The lady wants 900 for it. 1990 Loyale. 5 Speed. 165k miles. Im thinking of offering 500-600 and see if she will take it because thats what the budget is (luckily I am cheap labor )
  5. Sweet This should be a good purchase then. I am curious to see the printout she received. I wonder if she went in for this problem, they couldnt get the symptoms to happen, but found out it needs a water pump or something? Dont want my repairs to out do the value of the car lol. I check it out Saturday, so hopefully I bring it home and let you guys know
  6. I have been searching around for a car for my dad for awhile. Finally found one that I think he will like, and was discussing with the owner the issues it has to negotiate a price and get it home for working on She was given a $500 quote from a Subaru dealership on a replacement water pump (parts and labor) So I asked for the symptoms, fearing that it was more a headgasket issue that was being hidden by a "oh replace the waterpump and youll be fine" kinda disaster. She says "when in first gear, accelerating, its really slow and chuggy, and when you're stopped at a light, you have to give it extra gas or it will die" Im thinking fuel pump, fuel filters, timing and tune-up... Not water pump. Am I wrong? Could the water pump cause an issue like this? Im thinking water pump means overheating, not "chugging"
  7. I believe I have the rear covers on mine, but not the front, Ill check and see, but I have no complaints. Its a non-interference motor so if you break a timing belt, you have to spend $60 and about an hour of your time (more or less depending on experience) to fix it. Cover-less is the best option, unless youre building a completely original show car with these... but why? Scratch that, when Im done mine will be a show car but definitely not original!
  8. Agreed, everyone calm down... Im not trying to cause issues. I should have just simply asked where a brighter alternative to my taillights were and kept my reasoning private. I understand they look dumb, I think blacked out lights are stupid, but with a darker colored car, I think a *little* tint isnt a bad thing.. like tinted windows, I think a little tint is cool. I want brighter light bulbs because the lights I chose are already lightly smoked, *lightly* smoked, they arent as dark as the STI up there, definitely not that dark. and yes, I want the brighter bulbs for safety because legally they have to be visible by 500 feet.
  9. They would be on my 1986 GL sedan, so I dont think we have the same bulbs, but its no big deal right now, I have to clean the holes out and make sure the surface is ready for butyl rubber so the trunk stops leaking.
  10. Umm. No. Sound familiar, but rings no bells in my young naive head.
  11. soooo overwhelmed on that site lol... Im like... Which bulb goes where, wait, why do I need a different color... Ill work with it, thanks Tom... will see if I can figure this out
  12. My friend has a set of bulbs in his STI with blacked out tail lights. Because of the law though, they have to be visible by 500 feet on running lights, brake lights, reverse lights as well as turn signals. To make this possible with how blacked out they are (see pic) he said he purchased LED light bulbs that are "supposedly" 300% brighter than stock bulbs. Heres a similar pic, his has blacked out lights, probably darker than these. Has anyone used these on an older car? Like a loyale or anything? Id like these, but the guy at Autozone looked at me like I was crazy. Is this a kit, like my HIDs were? Is it a direct plug-in? :-\ Just wondering... Going to replace my cracked lens with non-cracked, non-leaking tail light assemblies and they are lightly smoked (not that dark) so to keep the car legal, I want brighter lights.. Maybe even not LED, just a brighter stock bulb?
  13. I have to do that too... and both tie rod assemblies. Pretty easy stuff at least
  14. Thats the point of posting pics right?
  15. I am on RockAuto (after getting an outrageous quote from the dealer) looking for Inner/Outer tie rods for my 1986 Subaru GL 4X4. The dealer said it was different for power steering/manual steering. I have Power Steering. Heres the part numbers I was given: Inner (universal for Left/Right) 31310GA158 Outer (right) 31320GA102 Outer (left) 31320GA112 I cant find these part numbers on RockAuto. Which RockAuto part numbers are correct? (If anyone has done this before, Im obviously not asking you to do this for me) Im looking for the cheaper the better, but dont want flimsy material thatll break on me :-\
  16. My buddy has this in his Jeep... air compressor and everything as well It moves people (so does the lift and tires and bumper though)
  17. ^ someone is generous. Thank you Rob! Now Crystal.. On with the pics (even though I have already seen them)
  18. Das darn didnt think of that Oh well, my no-longer-blonde-haired-blonde moment of the day
  19. So youll be at WCSS right I always wanna meet new people and I heard your FXT is one wicked ride.
  20. Oi you guys got tickets? No good Did you at least get your moneys worth on the trails... I mean 225$ worth of wheeling would be a LOAD of wheeling, but hey... maybe ya did? Pics
  21. Do you have a build thread or just keeping us updated here? Thats still a lot further than I would be with a Leggy right now... but it really is neat, nice job!
  22. She still hasnt posted pics yet? Shame shame Crystal... Some of us are eagerly waiting at their computers for some pics... Pics....
