  1. You can look at the crutchfield.com online catalog and search for "e" size stereo's they should fit accordin to the crutchfield stereo selector, and then go and buy it on the internet somewhere cheaper. just remember that a cd is 5" diameter, so i didnt measure the depth of the hole with the connector wires stickin out the back but a cd player *might* be a tight fit? for like $100 they got this BOSS (never heard of it, i dont anticipate it to be THAT good) deck that has a built in iPod dock that pops out of the stereo, kinda cool but not sure on the brand. seems like an offbrand, like RockWood (who is actually made by clarion if i am not mistaken)
  2. yeah, i've noticed primarily ea81 and ej22 talk. i'd definately like to look into a ej22 swap, i've read the document/write up about it but i dont have the space to sit a donor car nor the money to buy it. doh! i'd love to help someone with the swap tho, so i have more of an idea when i get to do my own. there was an ej22 impreza in the jy i saw the other day with the engine in it, the engine looked pretty good, i was suprised it wasnt pulled but of course it got me thinkin.
  3. great thanks! now howbout a 92 loyale FSM...
  4. whats up with all these extra connectors behind the radio?!? im guessing the blue one is for a power antenna or something. but i connected 2 that fit and it shorted out my dash and tail lights.
  5. oh cool thanks, i'll have to go try it out.
  6. what is this button in front of my AT shifter? [/img] does it do something? it doesnt seem to.
  7. ok, one thing i overlooked when buying my 92 loyale a few weeks ago was the lack of cupholders. so.. off to the junk yard i go and found some on the ground in about 5 mins. yay. i had to modify the stock radio bracket because that small coin tray pocket thing was too small. nothing a block of wood and a hammer couldnt solve. hammered it flat and then measured and drilled holes for the cup holder slider thing. also hammering flat made the lower dog ears (?) too low, so a tin snips helped me trim them to fit right, i didnt drill them for screws because i was lazy, wanted to see if it was really necessary, and i didnt feel it was. i did have to notch out the bezel to make it fit, i didnt really want to do that but eh.. i need a place to put my drink. here is a really crappy picture of the finished product, it doesnt slide ALL the way in, but its good enough for me! i'd like to put the stereo deck from our 2000 outback in there, but its too deep and sticks out past the cupholder. i could turn the hole thing upside down probably but i dont really like how far it sticks out.
  8. i put in some cup holders, im making a thread about it now... here is a crappy picture of them. not the cleanest install but eh.. it works. i wish though i would have grabbed the slide out cup holders from the outbacks rather than this one that i found on the ground near a toyota camry. i may go back and grab them incase i care enough to swap them in the future
  9. speaking of alternators. JCWhitney lists an alternator for the 92 loyale, i think its a bosch, boasting up to 200amps output anyone tried one of those? not sure if we're talking ea81's or ea82's in this thread
  10. round here subaru's dont generally show up to much in junkyards, my car has SPFI. oldest subie i've seen was a 96 legacy
  11. yeah, i dunno if the picture is of the actual part or not but id rather hear you say it looks like the cheaper on vs the more expensive one.
  12. Looking at parts online for the car i came across 2 different injectors at this place. both OE replacements but one was $350 and one was $46. what the heck is the difference between these 2 things? (hope the link works, if not, do a parts search for a 92 loyale for fuel injector) http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/search/?N=0&Nr=AND%28wpn_tl_name:Engine+%26+Drivetrain,wpn_cat_name:Fuel+Systems,wpn_scat_name:Fuel+Injector%29
  13. Hi, Im Scott from Milwaukee,Wisconsin i just picked up a 92 Loyale w/ 100k original miles on it. body is pretty good, just a couple rust spots but im going to put a bedliner coat on the bottom half anyways.. so no biggie. anyways.. its an auto... but hopefully not for long we also have a '00 Outback which just recieved a new 2.5 motor here is the best pics i got at the moment.
  14. ah, thanks for the clarification and such.. what i was really wanting to do was get a manual trans in there and possibly have AWD vs the push button 4wd bare with me, im new... still trying to see whats what around this site. EDIT: So if i were to find a 5spd dual range i could put that in tho right? (once i get the pedal etc etc stuff for inside the car)
  15. sweet. i'm buying a near mint 92 Loyale, and was gonna swap the auto trans out. there is an '88 xt6 with bad motor for $300 i might pick up to scavenge if it'd work, and i can get him down to around $200 i guess the thing just needs a timing belt or something.
  16. i know this thread is kinda old... but would an xt6 transmission be the same as the xt?
