  1. 9" of rubber on a 23 offset Pug won't clear the stock fenders. I did pull/roll the right front and it now clears. So I need to do the same to the left front and then the hell starts in the rear (dealing with rust and 3 layers of metal).
  2. my new flares won't fit grrrrrrr (too wide) I guess I'll just have to coax the metal into place...... I hate beating on metal......
  3. I managed to solve the problem by running energy suspension sway bar bushings on the bottom with the ES washer and OE bushings on the top with the stock washer. Note: remove the metal ring on the miata shock
  4. I am trying NB miata rear shocks on my RX and I will report that the NA rear shocks are shorter but NB will make a nice match for XT 2wd front struts with OE springs. I however am building a race car so Tokico illumina NA miata rear shocks will be going on these are 2 1/8" shorter than the NB shocks and have adjustable damping. I am still researching front shocks for the 4-lug suspension. I will try to add that info here as well.
  5. this begs the question. what do ZX turbo injectors actually flow? they are touted as an upgrade but are they really?
  6. new used power steering bracket, a pair of headlight housings and started on the rear miata shock swap.
  7. I just ordered my fender flares. I should be able to run the Pugs and Hoosiers soon.
  8. turbo injectors are indeed 185cc this is why people often swap them for the larger 260cc turbo ZX injectors. I am running the stock injectors but I plan to run more than 4 of them when I go for much more power.
  9. I have a sandwich adapter and run -10 lines to an 11x6x2 plate style cooler in front of the radiator on the passenger side. living in nascar land does have one or two advantages.
  10. there are a few simple facts about turbo EA82s first they create a LOT of heat both in the coolant and more importantly the oil. I have added an oil cooler to mine along with the intercooler, this has significantly lowered my oil temps. look at your radiator find the thickest one you can and look for metal end tanks (usually on A/c equipped cars). The heads do crack on these cars but if you keep the deadly temperature extremes at bay it will take MUCH longer before they do. Finally 115 hp will feel great if you are used to 80 try to resist the urge to turn the boost up, without knowing exactly what your AFR is you could cause big problems really fast by getting boost happy. I hope this helps have fun BTW: look up WJW's posts on this engine he is one of the authorities on making big power with the EA82t
  11. Today I picked up a new power steering bracket mine broke in half leaving me without any drive belt on the accessories. Additionally I picked up a front main seal and ordered intake gaskets.
  12. I have coil overs in the back with 450 lb/in springs on stock 4wd shocks. I need to upgrade all the springs about 150-200 lb/in. I will be swapping in a set of miata shocks for more travel (stockers are nearly bottomed out)

  14. I'm looking at flares for my RX and I'm looking for ideas so... Post up your photos if you have a flared car.
  15. turbo on an NA engine = Kaboom if you are doing a swap I'd pull the whole engine harness, dash harness, and anything else tied to the ECU. Plus if your car is Carbureted you'll probably want the fuel tank as well. Once done you will have a 115hp car with two timing belts for about the same amount of work it takes to install an EJ22 with 142hp.
  16. hoosiers and sidewall roll are rarely said in the same sentence. the reason there are 225's on this car is because I had them so no extra outlay and my competition is running 255's on a 76 rabbit. this rabbit is a national champion. More tire less sidewall equals more grip.
  17. there will be flares SOON BTW the camber is -3.2 degrees front using one off camber plates and -1.2 degrees rear
  18. today I discovered 23 offset pugs with 225/45/15 tires do NOT fit under stock fenders at ALL.
  19. the large hose goes to the pipe with the 90* bend the valve cover breathers are teed into the straight pipe. you can pick up a vacuum signal for the BPV by teeing into the FPR hose. the brass tee on the BPV hose is for the Idle AAV.

  20. I fixed my dead headlight (I unplugged it for clearance installing the oil cooler) I also re-plumbed the boost controller (oops 33psi spike) time for a different controller since this one blew apart. good thing I installed the solenoid valve (switched it off and stock boost)
  21. I plan to discard mine when I go in after a leaky front main seal. if you are on the street dump them it makes belt maintenance really easy.
