  1. I have an EJ22 it's a little aged but it runs a bit better than the current resident in my RX. I've been reading about the "Frankinmotor" and I have been wondering... is there a way to get good N/A power out of the 2.2 and still have it be a bit rev happy? I have been paying attention and I want to run a few ideas by everyone... Phase 2 block Phase 1 heads Delta power grind cams header CAI I am not sure what the final compression will be. I think if the higher angle of the valves in the Phase 2 heads coupled with the flat top pistons gives 10:1 then the lower angle of the Phase 1 heads will bump it up a little more possibly closer to 10.5 or even 11:1. I have built Datsuns in the past but these Suby motors I get confused as to what fits what. like will the 6 bolt block mate up with a 4 bolt trans and the like.
  2. Autocross is about the driver but often when you reach the "modified" classes you need lots of power to be competitive. The 2.2 will be reliable and have a little more power/torque than the 1.8 turbo I blew up. my concern is the bottom end on mine has lots and lots of miles on it. I may just run it till I can afford to build a stronger engine but I was thinking "make the leap now while it's down anyway" From what I've been reading the Frankinmotor is more like a WRX on power with all the power and torque available all the time. I think I should break away from the frankin motor thread at this point and start a new one.
  3. I wonder if a high comp 2.2 would be powerful enough to propel my RX in a way that would win championships.
  4. I have a 2.2 legacy as a donor and I'm on the hunt for a 2.5 shortblock.
  5. here's a probably pointless or useless question. would the hunting idle issue still be there with stock cams. I'm drooling over the power numbers because I want this kind of power in my well sorted (finally) RX chassis.
  6. EJ swap headers what have you done. Please post photos. I need ideas for my EJ22 swap
  7. I hope it's the axle if it's not I hope there is a wreckers near by with an RX.
  8. macbook version 1.1 1.83mhz core duo 2gb ram (maxed out) 120gb HDD 13.1" screen super drive (DVD read/burn) can run windows (not sure why anyone would want to) currently has OS10.6 (the latest version) can run MS files along side apple
  9. I may just have #1 if you like mac that is...
  10. I bought a running Rebuilt in December Legacy wagon with a bad trans for $600 there just isn't anything out here that is cheap and a manual.
  11. I bought a donor Leggo wagon for the RX. Woohoo!!! I'll be EJ'd soon!!!!!!! Quick question can I use the EJ radiator? NBD just wondering.
  12. I've been told by a well versed tuner that with cams and ecu tuning (stand alone probably) 160 hp can be made more if you want to get nuts. The heads apparently are the bottle neck they run out of breath. I imagine a good port and polish job can fix that.
  13. I have an engine and harness located as a matched set but thanks for the offer.
  14. Turbone I took your advice and started putting money aside I just didn't anticipate the EA blowing so soon. oh well I am really close to the engine purchase price. Scott what do you need for the plate and flywheel. I have a few parts I can trade.
  15. I never thought it would be so difficult to fund one of these swaps.... Life likes to kick me when I'm down. I am to the point of considering the sale of my long hunted and just acquired Peugeot flat spokes. I'm just getting frustrated and need to vent:banghead:
  16. I have heard that Nissan Silvia rear calipers are a direct swap for EA front calipers. Keep in mind they retain the E-brake system but they are much newer design than the EA system.
  17. I have located another engine so this one can come out and get some real attention. Plan to see some baseline dyno numbers with a stock engine soon. I will include the increased boost with intercooling numbers as well.
  18. unfortunately I am restricted to the stock turbo. I have had some success with the stock turbo, I use a 3" inlet pipe and a 2.5" DP. I am considering adding a TWE header for some better response and added power. I will be adding larger injectors and possibly additional injectors for added power potential. All told including WJW's maps I think this EA82t on the stock turbo might kiss 200 Crank HP. If I could get away with a TD04 I could see quite a bit more.
  19. Fortunately in street prepared I must run a FMIC and I can run stand alone and water inj. Those two things should vastly improve longevity of the old anchor.
  20. this car is finally handling up to par but the engine died. I think after a new (ish) engine is installed it will be competitive once again. I do plan on rebuilding the cracked engine and see what kind of power it can make (just for fun). I will wager that 200+ hp is possible for a short time.
  21. i have a few goodies that will be going on soon but for now its just one (well 4) see if you can spot the difference before after if you aren't sure the wheels are spaced out 1/2" yay hugely long studs. more to come
  22. that would only be if you took out the sound deadening too.
  23. GD can mark up one more Dead EA82t the exhaust was full of coolant this afternoon so that tells me something cracked when she got hot... anyone want to donate a good EJ swap?
  24. I did some reading and placed a few calls. After crunching some numbers.... Goodbye F Street Prepared hello street mod.
