  1. I've lived in the Portland/Vancouver area my whole life. It probably snows here combined in the winter like 10 inches. They never use salt and here in Clark County (Vancouver) they don't even use gravel anymore. My uncle works for the county and says the biodegradable and enviro friendly chemicals they spray on the roads (much like a water truck to keep dust down in construction sites, etc) is WAY more cost effective than gravel or salt. The winters here aren't gnarly enough for them to waste a bunch of the state's/county's money on salt or extended efforts to make the 1" snow covered roads "drivable." If anyone is in this area, you'll know what I mean with the lack of funding and weak winters we have. That's all, Dan
  2. I had a rear end clunk/knock like that in my 84 wagon, it turned out to be crappy strut mounts (imagine that)!!
  3. Skip, That's the connection I'm going to try Wednesday afternoon after I get outta work. That's just the Ignition and the 12v constant set up...I hope it will work. I figure with that set up...I will get power from the 12v constant and the engine to stay running from the Ingition wire...Like I was thinking, eliminating the need for the Accesory wire hookup. I believe this way I can just turn the TT off and on at will where as connecting the Accessory wire will make the TT come on automatically when the car is in ACC or START...RIGHT??? Thanks again, Dan
  4. Any help??? :boohoo: I was thinking I could possibly just connect the 12v constant and just the one ignition wire, eliminating the accessory power wire. So...I wonder if that would work... Hmmm :cornfuzz: :cornfuzz: :cornfuzz: :cornfuzz:
  5. Hey Guys, I installed the Greddy Turbo Timer in my 1984 turbo wagon and can't get it to work right! The starter GRINDS when I turn my key to remove it when the turbo timer is on! Here's a link for you guys to check out (it's the installation manual) so you can get up to speed on what I'm talkin about here. Fast internet connection... http://www.greddy.com/technical/pdf/GReddyTT.pdf Slow internet connection... http://www.greddy.com/technical/turbotimer/turbotimermanualB.html Here is a reply from Chris at Greddy USA: "It is quite possible that you have connected the ACC line to one giving power to the START of the ignition. Try finding another ACC line. It (BLUE wire) should be one that gives 12V when in the ACC position but then drops volt once in the IGN ON position. The GREEN wire should be connected to the IGN ON that does NOT drop voltage." So...I've tried 2 different wire combinations and they've both failed (I still get the starter making a grinding sound) This combination I get a grinding sound when the key is turned from the START to the ACC position: TT Blue-------Car - Black/Yellow TT Red-------Car - White TT Green----Car - Black This combination I get a grinding sound when the key is turned from the ACC to the OFF position: TT Blue------Car - Blue TT Red-------Car - White TT Green----Car - Black So in my SUCK O RAMA Haynes manual there's a small diagram that shows what each of the ignition wires do...Here's a makeshift diagram I made that's a copy of the diagram in the Haynes manual: http://www.usmb.net/gallery/Daniels-1984-Subaru-Turbo-Wagon/Ignition_Wires?full=1 So...After all that crap...Hopefully one of you guys can help me...Right??? :D As always guys...Thanks for the help, Dan
