  1. I know this thread isn't very recent but it seems as though I might have some similar issues though I am having hard time figuring out exactly what parts to replace. I put on my studded tires last week and noticed when my front passenger side was jacked up the whole tire/wheel assembly moved front to back and it seemed to be super loose where the suspension connects to the body under the passenger floor board. I thought it was a torsion bar, but am unsure of what the bushing actually is. I have checked everything else with the struts, A-arms, steering, and beyond it seems to be just the bushing in the very rear of the suspension system. Please help
  2. I hope your search for the fix works I'm following your post. I have a 1986 lifted GL wagon that seems to be having similar issues, I just bought/ordered fuel filters. Mine is strange because the car will pull strong through 1st and 2nd but once it hits 3rd about 3000rpms it seems to sputter out, wont die on me but lack of power for sure, it seems that it's better off in 5th gear with 2500rpms than 4th with 3100rpms. I am going to have to check the carb tricks to see if that's it but still unsure. I could certainly use any help/advice out there. James
  3. I've been looking for this relays location. Is it in the steering column?
  4. I'm interested in both front and rear ea82 bumper like on the sami I'd like a winch mount and driving light mounts, I'd also take y pipe larger diameter than factory would be sweet. Sign me up
  5. Good luck! That's an awesome undertaking. I wish you the best.
  6. Over the weekend I just about got my ea81 together. Just need to install the oil pump and water pump then she'll be dropped in hopefully next weekend I'll be driving the yellow monster. As for top speed I'm quite sure I still haven't found the governor.
  7. is there anyone out there making lift kits so others might be able to have such a neat ride I'd love it if the justy outside my house looked like that
  8. Got the crank assembled for my ea81 project wish I had more time today but, have to sleep sometimes. Cheers
  9. Distributor gears are in at Auburn Subaru. Adam there has been a big help:grin:
  10. I'll agree with everyone the thrill of the secondary opening is great! Sure seems like more power.
  11. I'm digging the lights I have some that need to be mounted up however I need to find a gear first. Does anyone out there have distributor gears for an ea81 I need both the crank gear and the distributor gear. Then I can put the motor back together. I got the engine bearings today and yesterday I got my pistons:grin:
  12. All I know is I love my 1982 GMC half ton diesel it gets 28-35 mpg and I'd certainly love to be driving a subaru with a diesel.
  13. I'll agree with everyone here, in Greenwater we call city drivers cidiots(city-its) and just about everyone here drives a Subi
  14. Just changed the brakes on my wife's 05 FXT. On my 87 gl wagon I'm rebuilding a ea81 to drop in, just got my cam back from Delta Cams got lifters too. Block is clean heads are done, waiting for pistons, and looking for bearings. I'm waiting for these last few items. Ooh and I'm looking for distributor gears, one for the crank and one for the distributor. Any ideas?
